FSU to Big 12 - the countdown begins
so how long do you guys think it'll be before FSU pulls the trigger and moved to the big12. and the big12 needs 2 more teams to have a conference championship game. with the bcs dying a long overdue death, it looks like winning a conference championship game is going to be a strong piece of the puzzle. with the big12 currently at 10 teams, they don't have enough teams for a championship game - this move would give them a somewhat legit 11th team, open up florida for recruiting, and make the big12 that much more interesting. but, they need 1 more.
-how long before fsu jumps ship? i say it'll be this summer sometime
-who do you think the next team to join will be? i'm leaning towards louisville or byu

I don't think that moving to the big 12 is in the best interest for FSU. They would be moving to an academically inferior conference that has no revenue sharing. They would also lose their rivalry with the university of Miami. I have also read that the buyout to leave the ACC is 24 million. Where is that money going to come from? Besides, it's much easier for FSU to win the ACC and get a chance at the total game rather than to have to compete with Oklahoma and Texas.
