Thanks for posting jdanjkert.

Extremely interesting video; lots of tips for neophytes like me to try and apply when racing in Forza.  Definitelyt reinforces many of the thoughts various folks in the clan have suggested to help all of us improve our driving/racing skills.

Including Fitzy, for the last few comments on Sim racing cheeky I enjoyed watching it, a lot of good information that as JD said, mirrors much that has been said by our resident teachers.

Who cares. You'r opinion's not hurting fitzy & his isn't hurting you, so why must you cotinue to argue about it. You both need to chill out.

You seem to be under the impression we are having an argument, not mine, simply an exchange of views. I am not offended or wound up by his comments and if he is by mine I would be surprised and apologize. Nothing said between us has been personal or offensive, nor as far as I am concerned will it ever be. Simply a difference of opinion that I would love to discuss over a pint of the black stuff, or better still sat at my rig, but as that is not possible we do it here. I might also add if Fitzy finds himself in my part of the country at any time, he has an open invite to my home and it would be my absolute pleasure to meet in person.

I am not aware of any transgression of forum etiquette but if you require I keep my opinions to myself I shall do so.

I understand knight, but these things always get out of hand, so I'm heading it off before it does.

Heh look no worries, I think you just read more into it than there was, the Irish are an argumentative bunch and despite my English accent I am Irish.smiley Like I say I don't imagine for one moment I have offended Fitzy, at least I hope not.

Back on subject, I was most interested in the way Allan talked about car and body being in harmony, as a biker at heart I have discarded any of the attempts to simulate bike racing because a joystick is so far removed from the full body control needed for a bike I just felt totally disconected from the experience. FFB and wheels do help with cars and it was interesting to hear him say that if you nailed a car and track in Simraceway you were 90% of the way to doing it on track...Hmm 90% seems a little high but I have often wondered how the two skills transfered and it seems more than I thought.

I struggle with that physical feeling of connection, and that is with a decent wheel, pedals and a full race rig, yet some of our members are alien fast with a pad with no steering FFB at all. Now the FFB on the CSR in Forza at the moment is not great with the firmware I use, it's notchy in the centre but that aside, I wonder how physically attached folk feel with their cars?

Wouldn't say I'm phsically attached but I do find myself tilting my torso/head slightly as I turn in Forza.  I do that in real life when doing highway speed turns, especially twisty ones..

Oh yes I lean...hang over from biking days...that not so much what I meant more how much does your brain respond to the feed back you are getting through your eyes and if you have a FFB wheel your hands, to make you feel and react as if you had seat of the pants sensations.
