Anyone here play this on PC? I picked it up a while back and have all the DLC as well on PC. Looking for others to play with. I have it on 360 also but don't have the DLC for it.
I'm finishing my PC build next week and should be online by next weekend. i picked up a Premium Editiond of BF3 during Amazon's summer sale. I believe I sent you a Steam FR and will send one via Origin soon.

Scratch-welcome back to this side of the pond!
Nice! You will be ready just in time for the beta that starts on Oc1st. After the beta is over, that will give you about 2 weeks to play BF3 before BF4 is released. :)
Cheers Bunsen, but it's not returning, its migrating .
My dad never relinquished his canadian citizenship, even after being in the UK for over forty years, so I qualify for canadian citizenship by descent.
MrGuster- one word...mountains.
In the meantime, my PC is still in a box in the UK, but we're moving today, so I'll have an address to send it to. It will be nice to have stable, fast internet.
PC has been built, and tested. I'm downloading BF3 from Origin. It is taking FOREVER at 1.75-2.15 Mb/s even though my Speedtest is showing 14.8MB/s download. EA and their cheap-ass download servers.
Hopefully I can have it downloaded by midnight and fool around in the campaign a little to stress test a touch further. Should be online this weekend though!
Sweet! I played the campaign on 360 so I never bothered wth it on PC. As for EA, yeah, there servers can be slow once in a while.
I am actually thinking about grabbing a new video card and power supply now that the specs are out for BF4. Was trying to avoid it until the spring but I will see how it runs with what I have until then.
BF3 downloaded and I played a little of the campaign this morning. It's going to take me a while to adjust to m+k, if I ever do. I'm using a Logitech GT105 and G400S. I can see I'm going to redo a few key bindings from default. Am I really giving up a HUGE advantage with a controller? On a twitch shooter like COD or Quake and in CQB situations I can see it, but I'm more of a mid range BF player. I do plan on using the controller for vehicles. I might even plug in my saitek aviator flight stick to try in Air Superiority.
On a side note, I believe BF3 does not have in game voice chat, but BF4 "should". I don't plan on playing with gaming headphones but instead using my 5.1 suround system as I do for the console. What should I use for a chat headset for in game VOIP? I have the later plug style Xbox headsets so that should work, but I wouldn't mind something a bit better.
I found that no matter what I did, the m&k was better than the controller in terms of reaction speed and keeping the reticle entered. I was able to keep the climb rate of the reticle at a minimum by slowly dragging the mouse downwards as I fired. I'm a controller freak from having played on consoles for so long but for BF3, sadly, m&k wins on PC IMO. Last time I played on PC, I actually had a decent k/d. Not like a few weeks back when I went 2 and 20 with the M&K when I started using it.
BF3 does have chat but you have to start it on the web page before jumping in a game and have anyone you want to chat with in the group. It's on the bottom right corner. Probably the biggest drawback of the game. Doesn't work very well either. Hopefully it is fixed and/or better for BF4.
I use a Turtle Beach X11 so I can switch between the PC and 360 without having to buy another headset. Works well. It's not wireless but I honestly don't mind that.
After logging a few hours in campaign and MP it is self evident to me that the m+k is far superior to the controller. The turn speed on the controller is WAY slow compared to even a modest DPI speed on the mouse. Movement wise I'm still not very fluid with the keyboard and my left pinky is killing me from holding down L-SHIFT constantly. I was able to swap around some key bindings to make things more comfortable though. I also realized that it completely SUCKS to be back at LvL 1 with the base faction specific starting weapons. I had forgotten how much I despise the AK-74U versus the M4.

I'm far from master, but yeah, the switch to m and k took a while, and i still hit every key when I get panicky.
I'll send you an invite when I've rebuilt my PC after moving to Vancouver from the UK.
Won't be for a few weeks, but I might actually game with some 2o2p'ers when I'm on the other side of the Atlantic
Departure in 1 week....
Why the heck would you want to move back here ? You can't miss the rain that much.
