Bumper Jumper is it worth it to switch.
I've been really wanted to go back to the BJ control setup, but I'm not big on the button layout. Does anyone use the layout and do you like it? My main reason why I would like to switch is I really like Throwdown and it seem alot of the players use it.
If you use jetpack only, no. Otherwise, yes. I started the switch back at the tail end of Halo 3.
I've used it since H3. There's just something more in my playstyle where being able to strafe, jump, melee, all while keeping your thumb on the right stick (aim). I find it more important than using a hardlight shield or jetpack which is nigh impossible with Bumper Jumper, just as it was in Reach. Sprint is (A). Easy to do. All other AAs are on (X) and all a push of the button where you don't have to hold (X) and aim.
I use it. Have since halo 3. Major draw back is it makes the jet pack and hard light shield unusable.
go with what is working for you. why change?
I'm considering this as well, it's a pain when you run into people using it on me, so I figure I should be a pain too.
I run bumper jumper on a 2 sensitivity. Jetpack sucks, and I can still use light shield. I predominately run thruster pack, so it is PERFECT.
Go to bumper jumper, learn to ghandi hop. Forgetaboutit.
I am a newer and pretty average player but really like using Bumper Jumper. Being able to jump around (need house of pain on loop as I play) and make my myself harder to hit while I can still aim w/o taking my thumb off the stick. Or jumping into enemies for melee and not losing my view with the thumb off the stick.
I'm a Canmo who're, so it works great for me
bunch of halo bunnies in here jumping around.
For my playstyle, Bumper Jumper is a must. Others like Rider and J12 do extremely well with default controls. It's really up to what works for you. Having played against and with you a decent amount... I'd stick with what you're using now. You're already doing pretty well IMO.
If you do decide to go Bumper Jumper, there are at least a couple controllers with mapable buttons / triggers underneath that will allow you to use Jetpacks.
Razer Sabertooth - http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Sabertooth-Elite-Gaming-Controller-Linux/dp/B00B1MXGDO
Madcatz FPS Pro - http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Officially-licensed-F-P-S-GamePad/dp/B005775790
Or head to Radioshack and buy a button for $2 and solder a second X button to the bottom of a standard controller.

Check Scuf gaming too
Are you guys really spending 100 bucks on a controller/soldering another fucking button on your current one? Why not, oh, I don't know, just not use the jetpack?
WHAT! Jetpack...I cant quit you!
It isn't worth it, man.
100$ psshhhh i made this right after halo reach betahttp://youtu.be/Yh78tUB26lI

Well, I suppose there's that, but jetpackers spend a lot of time in that reloading screen if they're no good at it.
bumper jumper for life and i just goto the claw technique for jet packs and when i want to get a good workout while playing i play with this[IMG]http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj165/sknnie/shakeweightcontroller.jp...
Still using it?
depends its the only controller i have that doesnt drift so i try to only use when needed best ten bucks i ever spent. its a wired controller but its lasted all these years with out wearing out in the slightest
I play bumper jumper. Had an onza and still didn't use jetpack.
It's an easy workaround for a greater benifit of bumper jumper.
Jet packers, the clay pigeons of Halo.
Bad jetpackers pad your k/d. Good jetpackers are deadly.
I have no love for any jetpacker, good or bad. I still feel it's like they come flying in from a totally different game just to fxck with my halo experience.
On topic, make the switch Jim, you'll never look back.
E. =)
I've been using BJ for years, can't really effectively use anything else.
That being said, I NEVER use jetpack, so it makes sense. I really only find thruster or camo to be useful for my playstyles, half the time I forget about AA altogether, still stuck in the first 10 years of halo without them.
I'm trying to use both settings. When I'm in playlists with no Jetpack I go BJ and for normal gametypes I go default. Its kinda tough because I keep crouching instead of sprinting, but other than that its not to bad.
You guys have to stop saying "BJ". I've done very well to refrain from infantile jokes but my willpower is fading with each "BJ" post.
