Choppy audio -headphones?
I have often noticed during extreme audio video extremes, my audio gets choppy/dropouts.
I think I noticed it only happens when using my headset and MS stereo adapter. The adapter is up-to-date so that issue is dealt with. I'm thinking the controller and adapter are getting overwhelmed by audio, rumble feedback.
I.E. Using rockets to clear out 5 or 6 baddies. Typically during public events where lots of music and sound effects are playing.
So my question to you all is, does this audio choppiness ever happen to you and what audio equipment are you using?
I am especially interested if you are using a wireless headset using the TOS connector and have never noticed any choppy audio.
Deep mine does this too. I had the Microsoft stero headset wireless with the adaptor. I now have the TB Stealth 500x (which are awesome). It is compeletely wireless and doesnt use the adaptor at all. Both of them do this. I get mostly pops and static, but like you said it is during times of a lot going on. I'm guessing it overwhelms the wireless bandwith at times. I'd be curious if people with wired headsets get it too.
Probably unrelated, but If you do the raid, it is really terrible during the Templar which will cause me to lose some aspects of the sound completely. Pretty sure this is a game bug though, as it happens to everyone.
Thanks. Info I needed for my headset upgrade.
BTW. Just how much better is the 500X over the MS stereo headset?
Way way better. It is a bit confusing to get the selections set right at first. Its all done off of a number of beeps. There is a small cheat card that you should keep with you at first. But once you have it set right, I have to say Destiny sounds fantastic in 5.1. It also has two levels of mic monitoring, or you can turn it off. It is excellent.
Lots of options. I think I have mine set to game, standard (stock) game sound, surround + high mic monitoring. I had it set to footsteps, but they were a bit loud for me. That setting would be fantastic in Halo though. There is shooter setting too. I'd recommend it.
Plus NO WIRES AT ALL. Which is awesome. You have to plug it in to charge it obviously, but I had one 6 hour gaming session over the holidays and it didnt need to be charged. I read somewhere that people have gotten 10 hours...
I have a turtle beach px5 and get distortion and garbled chat regularly with all the adapters required for it to work on XB 1
I have the XO 7 headset but use it wired -- always have the play and charge connected to the controller so I don't drain the batteries so quick. I haven't noticed any real problems, so it may very well be a wireless issue.
BTW, I remembered to remember to notice.
The audio choppiness/breakup occurs though normal surround sound systems. No headsets or adapters involved.
It happens quite often when ground pounding several AI.
May be a limitation of XB1 hardware or Destiny software.
