Surely everyone will know what car is a series car as the series would be posted on the forum. Might get confusing with different coloured squares and its not as if they are going to be sat in the garage for long
The issue is going to be guys sharing ass loads of cars that NEVER actually come to the forums.
Nope, thru enough that's going to happen, but the issue is no one's actually managing the garage.
Drive the new stuff, if it's good leave it, it it isn't, remove it.
As I said, if my usage numbers aren't moving after a bit, I remove my own crap. But, it comes down to someone actually managing the garage.
And what's forum participation got to do with putting a car in the garage? If it's useful, great. If not, it should be removed.
People run all kinds of races and post 5 times a year. Gizzies a prime offender. But his cars are decent, and usually series stuff.
Now, if you're talking about someone stuffing the garage 3 days after joining and then no one's ever seen them since, someone ought to remove the cars. A manager maybe...
I don't think the Euro garage has these problems, but then Gizzie does keep an eye on it, Church too I guess.

You want painters to put liveries on a car, but you also want the series name on it. So someone spends hours painting a replica on a car then has to put the word GLOBAL on the side which ruins the paint and the replica.
Well then the cars should not be put into the garage until the event is posted into the forum .... simple. If someone wants the cars tested then send them to a handful of people to test them not clog up the garage with cars that are not going to be driven

For the lotus series, As the series coordinator, I bought a second Elise and Evora, painted them with a basic paint, applied the tune and shared those cars. This way I could have a clearly idenified series car without using my actual race paint. Not ideal but it worked. Once the series is over, I auction/sell the cars
Or you could have just painted the cars, put them in the garage then put your paint on them. The cars in the garage wont have your 2nd paint on unless you sync them.

I put 2 cars in the garage not realizing the color coding...If it is ever set in stone what colors and where let me know and I will change them.Or if the cars are not up to snuff then by all means nuke me...May I suggest instead of the color blocks we use a color coded number placard where it is easly seen while diging in the garage...Sometimes in lobbies you dont have the time to look for a little blue square...
There's a whole set of Placards, by CLASS and club logo floating around, but no one uses them anymore. Each class is indicated by letter and color. The color could easily be used for Speed/grip/drag? Hell, that's down to only three colors...dare I say it, ....easy peasy...The letter could be used for speed/grip/drag as well, I mean, if you don't know you're in an A Class car, you need to put the beer down...
If this sounds acceptable I'll start passing them back out again. All that would require modding is the color of the class indicator...oh, and a set system for the colors...
I placed 6 cars (1 in each class C, B, A, S, R1 & R2) in the club garage that are grip tunes that I use for Nordschleife and they are very obvious what track they are for. Feel free to try them and if they are not up to your standards, I can remove them.
Once the standard (I like oldschools idea) color options are finalized, I will update the paint
Yes, the later the weekend night, the better I do...
These placards have been around since Fm3 for sure, maybe Fm2, I don't know. I will put out the placards this afternoon to a few guys and we will need to settle on a simplified set up, I'd say simple as G-grip/S-speed/D-Drag maybe? and to make it even easier, make them Red/Yellow/Blue colors for the letter?
Not completely sure how you want to do the the options? But I see Grip as short track, speed as long track, and do we really do drag a lot? We definately need some way to alert if a car has drag tires though.
Here's an old shoot of Skiwi's Pantera with a B class, but, as I said, change the letter/color of letter to grip/red and done.Pics oversized, but I wanted to be able to see some detail.
okay, flickr, or the boards actng up, here's the direct link to the picture...
Color coded cars...why can't we sort them alphabetically, and chronologically in the case of duplicates? I demand chaos! Folks should find out the hard way if a car is right for the track while incessantly complaining about grip or acceleration. Oh, BTW...I'm about to dump like 70 cars into the garage and I would appreciate it if you cleared the way for me. Thanks!

It appears that this has turned into Prebuilts/Grim's garage...I do appreciate the energy and time it has taken to tune/paint these cars for everyone's enjoyment AND trying to keep an eye on the Garage for quality control...But keep in mind that when judging cars in the Garage that they might have a purpose besides Club events. The last Garage I was involved in the garage was a perfect way to share a random car with certian mods to just play around in the lobby with a few of your buddies..But carry on like you want, I rarely use the Garage cars anyway..

As for "judging" the cars.....Like I said before if a TUNE isn't to my liking so what. It just might be driving styles. But cars that are good A600 cars are kind of worthless tuned to R3 765 for example.
I also don't like it when someone that doesn't post here, race with us in any series races or pick up lobbies dumps 20 cars in the garage.
As for the garage and my cars I'm going to remove the remaining two B500 cars that I'm probably going to use for my next series and I'll remove the soccer truck too. That'll leave ZERO cars in the garage.
uummm. I have two cars for the lotus series and a 5-6 cars for the ring in different classes (which are very clearly marked which track they are for) that I stated could be removed if not up to standards. As for this being "Prebuilts/Grim's garage" I have not removed a single car that someone has placed in the garage so Im no sure how this became my garage?
That said, I have no problem removing them if it will free up space

Yeah, this is the cheaper way.

Sorry.
Surely if you have a car thats built for speed i am assuming it would have grip too
No Max, extreme of this line of thought is grip vrs speed = Iberian vrs Lemans Old.= short vrs long etc...
Last time i raced around Le Mans i recall there were bend there also .... Bends = Grip
Maybe I should work up a soccer ball vinyl?
Just for clarificaion....
grip=a build centered around tires, weight reduction, & aero before adding to the motor.
speed=a build centered more around a big horsepower before handling.
Simply adding a letter to the placard when you paint the car would be the easiest roue I think.
g=grip
s=speed
265mph down straight faster than 185mph with grip...20 seconds or better faster...
But, based on Cotters definition, all my tunes are suspension first, so grip I guess.

Jones, I thought all your tunes had a skull n crossbones on the door?
All cars should have that paint scheme.
I was thinking about a 2O4F skull n crossbones for the front, reverse text for the mirror? I'll have to get on that one...
