4 vs 4 Pre-set game loadouts Forced respawn timers No instant respawn Ordnance on re-supply timers Join-in-progress off No split-screen play Friendly fire on Max party size 4 with big party matching enforced No guests allowed
I beleive you have to have H4 as your mst recently played game for it to work.
H4 has been my most recent game since the day it came out.
I tried it while connected to the Xbox. I even tried it while in the main menu and MM lobby.
I pissed with it for almost an hour last night.
So, isn't this basically restoring normal PRE-Halo 4 settings?
Nope. Just standardising the loadouts, fixing some ordnance issues and removing instant respawn. It's not finalised yet either. Also, the other stuff listed in the OP.

Wait...how is that not restoring normal pre-H4 settings?

Sorry, I went a little brain dead when I read Loadouts. Forgot about REACH's loadout system. I am presuming there will be more than one loadout option.
It'll be interesting to see the collision between Mr. NNN's dislike for competitive Halo with the settings that we've had in Halo since, oh, the very beginning. Of course, it ends up reinforcing the fact that the vast majority will blissfully play whatever settings are vanilla, no matter what they are. Does anyone else think the playerbase could get pretty fractured over this, or is it just wishful thinking?

Are you agreeing with my presumption that the vast majority of the player population is more casual in nature than ultra-competitive? Doesn't that fly in the face of the mantra, casuals are the first to dump a new Halo title a few weeks after release? That is what some people throw out there sometimes. I.E. Casual are game deserters and only the ultra-competitive types fully support a title to the bitter end.

I never doubted that the vast majority of the playerbase is more casual. They're going to like whatever you put out in front of them. Hell, they like Swat, Grifball, Big Team, then Infinity Slayer in that order (last time I logged on, if I recall).
Funny thing is, in practically every damned game, there's this gripe, that the competitive folks get pushed out in favor of the casuals. The ones that do it right offer robust options for both paths of play. 343 didn't do it right. Let's see how they treat this new playlist.

Wishful thinking. The new "competitive" list will still lag behind IS, BTB, Grifball, and SWAT. I'm talking about once the playlist numbers stabilize.
I believe the fact the playlist will not be "vanilla" is what will turn more people away or keep it's popularity low. The only hope it has of beating IS or BTB would be to have visible ranks with vanilla settings. I'm not saying this is what I want to play - certainly the new settings sound great - but those of us that post on forums are in the minority vs. the people that just want to play.
I hope I'm wrong and the people that left Halo 4 because of it's vanilla settings, flock back and populate this new list. However, I honestly feel that by April it will be too little, too late. There is just too much competition out there nowadays for our gaming time and dollars that developers shouldn't spend 6 months implementing fixes and adding new lists and expect their players to wait.
on iOS you don't. It's not in my recent games, and clicking on the achievement list for Halo 4 brings me to the screens I posted. So, maybe this is an android/Win7 issue.

could be. I tried clicking on every icon, area, whatever and could not get HW to launch. Hopefully this will be fixed or the magic sauce revealed.
true.
on android, it's not there no matter what. I've been trying every possible scenario for two days and no luck.
on a related note...
chrome for android is mo longer a beta. it works with the waypoint site.
I'm not sure of the phone requirements.
I'm using HTC EVO 3D 4G. Android 4.0
I can browse the entire site with no problems.
Team Microsoft Appreciation Number One!
Pillow Fight playlist and have a picture of hot chicks pillow fighting. It will work.
I don't see anything here about armor abilities.
Maybe all players will have infinite camo?
j/k
To root my phone to get this, or to not root my phone to get this. I think I'll pass LOL
on a related note, i can access waypoint and all my stats using "chrome for android".
i tried internet browser and Opera mobile and neither one of those work on the site.
I'll play SWAt anytime. Why do you think I picked up BLOPS2? All swat all the time.
yep Shadow I am in the same boat as Wam. I only have 3 dots and not 4. What phone are you using?
I have no issue using smartglass either. I also have waypoint pinned to my start screen. I have a windows 8 phone so it may be a conspiracy.

No you don't. Just click on it in your achievements list.
I'm on iPhone, iOS6.
Yeah, you do.
I'll clarify that on windows phone 7, it doesn't work if Halo 4 is not your most recently played game.

People will just move on (and many have).
