It is so frustrating for me in the Crucible. My K/D is 0.5. Everyone is playing like it is CoD, too many pro players.
I have been trying to get a feel of these limited maps. The sensor sucks for me and the shooting from rival players went too fast.
You spawn in with a shotgun or sniper rifle and the game is full of little cubby holes and corners to sit in. What did you expect to happen?
I did that sometimes. Sometimes, it worked, sometimes, it doesn't. Problem is with sensor for me, how close is that red square pinging that represents a rival player nearing me? In H4 or CoD Ghosts, both sensors actually shown individual pings. Some players moved too fast for me.
I wonder if players who has faster connections can move faster than players with slower connections? I have a 2 MBps connection.
I feel your pain. It kills me to say this, but I didn't like the crucible at all. It just feels all wrong to me. I'm really hoping that the retail version is better. I definitely felt like I was constantly playing against people who were way above my skill level.

Once again, bad skill matching could be hurting the game. Good skill matching should drive every single one of us to a 1:1 k/d - pros only play pros etc.

True, right now a lot of pro players are trying out the worthiness of the Crucible. Once game is released for the masses, the Crucible should have more average players balancing out with average players and pro players vs pro players. We'll see in the months ahead.
I have not touched the Crucible yet. Been enjoying playing the missions with my friends. This is what mostly brought me to the game. I've had enough of nothing but PvP for a little while. By the sounds of it, I'm not missing much of anything at this time, but I will check it out eventually.
I read that Bungie's strategy for Destiny's MM is to normalize weapons so differences in ranking and loadouts don't affect gameplay (too much). That plus skill matching is supposed to be in effect. Of course, since this is the Beta, who knows if what is currently being experienced will be the norm when the game releases. Spawning with snipers and/or rockets doesn't seem workable.

Uh, I was sniped soon after I respawned in one of the Crucible matches last night. Couldn't believe it. Whoever sniped me knew exactly where me or one of team players would be respawning from. Must be a elite MLG.
That Iron Banner gave me a free 'purple level' spaceship. I looks like a fricken flying gold house.
I'm pretty sure that Iron Banner allows all weapon and armor upgrades, while the regular Crucible is supposed to be "equalized" weapons and armor.
Your weapon upgrades still apply in the normal crucible. I've got a shotgun that I upgraded to fire full auto, and it still does that. It's a nasty little toy. Does the same damage it always did, now just fires SO much faster.
Crucible and Crap both begin with C. Crap has the upper hand
After messing with sensitivity endlessly to try and work the bugs out of the controls(pulling up and crosshairs all over the place), I turned on auto look centering. Much, much better. I can actually hit and kill opponents in the crucible now. A first for me having look sensitivity near max in a game too.
So Crucible went from Crap to has potential. Fun instead of frustrating now. Someone in my lobby appeared to have a clan tag(BTT).
Its in the settings. I can't remember which setting it is, but the default is to have huge dead zones to allow for imprecise aiming. Turn that shit off.
Must be the way I drive and they way the controls react to my driving. I turned it back off permanently. Auto center is compensating for something I'm doing
I was intially frustrated with The Crucible. Going in with noob weapons and still getting used to the controls was tough - on top of learning maps. However, once I found some better weapons and unlocked some "perks" it was better for me. I had some decent games and some horrible games, but overall I had a lot of fun.
I leveled up both a Warlock and a Titan. The Titan is a little more user friendly due to more armor and he survived stuff that killed my Warlock.
My understanding of level advantages being disabled means the attack rating and defense ratings are "leveled". The unlocks and characteristics still apply to weapons, as well as your skills and armor perks. I found a nice Scout Rifle last night that I unlocked a nice scope and with it's higher rate of fire could hold it's own vs. the Auto Rifle. In other words, gear still matters.
I was actually impressed with all the maps. The Moon is my least favorite, but once I figured out you could basically sprint from A to C without being exposed to all the vehicles, I had more fun on that map. Venus and Mars were my favorites.
I was also surprised how many people ignored the Heavy Ammo. I would always run for it or be in position when I heard the announcement, but often times I'd see it go untouched on the other side of the map. I expect that will change once people realize what that means...lol
The radar is something to get used to and I used it as more of a guide instead of relying on it to tell me exactly where an enemy was located. I actually find it allows me to keep it in my peripheral vision while still watching the game space.
The steep learning curve probably turned a lot of people off to the PvP, but give it some time, find some better gear and I hope you'll find it fun.
Bungie mentioned the Interceptor in last week's update. Seems a change is in order.
Quote:
It’s a beast. Ain’t it? The architects of the arena have some ideas. In the final game, it won’t be the menace that’s been chasing you into bases. Don’t take it from me. Listen to Bungie Designer Derek Carroll:
The Interceptor is a tank and should be treated with respect, but the Sandbox team made some tweaks to reduce the “apocalyptic firestorm” factor a bit. The largest change is a lower rate of fire, with an additional delay between shots. This encourages the pilot to take aimed shots instead of just spamming rockets. More subtle changes include reducing the rocket blast radius, and shrinking the “arming shape” that allows the rockets to airburst on flying targets.
Even with these changes, we felt that having two of them on First Light is less interesting than having a single Interceptor for both teams to fight over. At the start of each match, each team is given a single Pike, with another neutral Pike up for grabs. Additional Pikes will respawn throughout the match near the Control Zones. The Interceptor will spawn on a delay.
You won’t see these changes in the Beta. A kinder, gentler Interceptor is just one more reason to look forward to the final version of Destiny, set to launch on September 9th. On that day, we look forward to complaints from the other side of the aisle, where the ace pilots have been polishing their medals.
While defending a territory, I used my Titan's ground pounding Hulk smash superability to kill a couple incoming opponents. I smiled a bit, but wondered how the hate Reach/H4/AAs crowd will respond. I really like the uber melee as well - no need for a shotgun. Instead, equip yourself with the equivalent of a DMR, a fast reload sniper rifle, a rocket and regenerating pulse grenades (all standard, drop-in equipped). MIN

I'm 50/50 on it. I don't think I dig the space magic and gimmicky nonsense going on. The Hulksmash is an "I win" button, the Warlock's purple blob is death from a distance, and the Golden Gun is kinda meh. The space magic is going to be more refined and different with different specializations, but that sounds even less fun. Machine guns are too accurate and the burst weapons have recoil.
It could be that Crucible becomes the most popular and most populated Arena shooter ever and not include a high percentage of ex-Halo players. It will have to find its own crowd, whoever they may be.
I certainly don't want Crucible to be a Halo, COD or BF clone.
While I did find the supers annoying, I didn't exactly rage when I got taken out by one. I mean, we'll all get our trump card to play during the match (a few times), but I didn't find them as annoying as the armor abilities from Reach and H4.
We'll see how it all works out once people reach the higher ranks and unlock all of the "perks".

I found them pretty annoying, but not as bad as jetpack. The Titan grenade that stuck around and emitted the blue pulses of damage? That might have been most annoying. A lot of kids dropped that into B on Matt's Mom and rendered that cap point useless until the stupid grenade was gone.
I'll be playing the beta on the Xbone. Friend and I are looking for people to play with.
Don't forget to join the 2o2p clan!

I sent a clan request. I'm in the process of seeing about selling my Xbone for a PS4, so might have to change my account.

I was just in the Iron Banner. I'll be picking splinters out of my ass for a week.
Crucible is going to have to grow on me. I'm not going to condemn it prematurely. Time, patience and then decision.

Played some more Crucible and it's fine. Perhaps more difficult to get used to than TITANFALL.
Just pick weapons that are good for you, which is quite unlike what I tend to do.
I played with Yountdog and it was his first foray in Crucible. We won games!

Had to turn auto centering off in campaign. Ughh. Anyone else having wonky controller look functionality? Through titanfall back in and it's fine.

Controller is fine and no auto centering, for me.
