Custom Challenges, cool

Has anyone tried the custom challenges yet. You go to your profile at Waypoint and you can set up your own challeges and you can get a good amount of points for completing them. You can set them up in Firefight, Matchmaking or Campaign. The harder you make them the more you get.

Didn't even know you could do this

Edit:  I cannot seem to find where you set up the challenges.  I found the area but don't see an option to create

Yes, I do this occasionally.

Mostly just 400 kills and 200 headshots. Each one pays off ~5000 CR. I try to combine them with whatever the challenge is that day.

I'm still not going to make Inheritor though. A few Over 50 guys have made it and for quite some time.

Do a medals challenge, not headshots; you earn them faster and they pay off just as well. I posted a guide here before, looking for the link now. I found it! The guide talks more about Grifball than anything, which I HIGHLY recommend, as Grifball got a substantial increase to the credits allowed. Beau has been hitting the daily credit limit by playing Grifball, as in a full game where you earn a shit load of kills and win in the end, he has gotten as much as 29,000 credits for ONE game. That is not an exaggeration. Halo Waypoint introduced a way to create custom challenges a few months ago. I posted this in the last forum, but since we are gaining new members, I feel it's a good thing to share. When you go Halo Waypoint from either the website or on your phone, you can find a tab that says "Create Custom Challenges" under the Challenges section. This is a very easy way to earn a LOT of experience. I've gotten a million experience from this so far. There are ones you can set for Campaign, Firefight, or Multiplayer. Campaign aren't worth much at all, so I don't recommend them. Firefight are good if you plan on playing a few rounds and can get you an extra couple thousand credits. The real benefit for these lies in Multiplayer. When I get ready to play Multiplayer, I always set up the same three challenges- one for wins, one for medals, and one for kills. You can't have more than one of the same goal type at a time. Kills and medals are always worth the same amount of credits, with wins being a lesser value, as they're easy to accumulate. You have to set a time limit on challenges, so I recommend using the fewest time, three hours. I haven't checked, but I'm pretty sure it's worth more for having a shorter time period. You want to set your challenges to be easily earned for what you plan on doing. If you're playing regular slayer, I suggest having the amount of kills and medals, as you'll probably earn them almost in tandem. Different playlists have different playstyles, however. When you play SWAT ot Grifball, its different. Every headshot in SWAT is a medal, and its easier to get double kills. Grifball is also different in that every single thing you do in the game is a medal; every kill is a melee, every bomb capture is a medal, and its very easy to get killing sprees (which almost always count as Hammer Sprees, too) and so forth. I suggest when playing these games to have more medals than kills for your goal. Don't worry about losing out on wasted time for your challenges. You can go back to Waypoint, and click Turn In on the challenge as soon as you hit your goal to save the challenge's progress. Don't hit Forfeit, as you'll have wasted your time and credits. After turning it in, you can make a new challenge in its place. When I play Grifball, I'll set up three challenges- one for 100 kills, 125 medals, and 5 wins. When these challenges mature, they're worth about 11,000 credits. Fortunately though, Grifball is a fast game type, and I usually hit these goals within a few games. When that happens, I go turn in my challenges and start brand new ones. This method turns a couple hours with friends that would normally yield only around 10,000 experience into a time that earns around 70,000. Challenges don't seem to count towards your daily credit limit. When you turn in your challenge, the credits will be awarded to you automatically when the time expires for the challenge. I'll edit this if needed, as its very hard to proofread on my phone. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Correct me if Im wrong, but I dont think it can be set up through the waypoint on the XBL dashboard. It has to be through the actuall website right?

Yes, this must be done outside the Xbox, but if you have the Waypoint application on your phone, it works there too.

Did these for awhile, sort of like Lou.  Looked at the daily challenges or what I planned to do on Reach for the day, then went in and set up some custom challenges to parallel that activity.  Gave me a nice credit boost.  Now...got to max rank and lost all incentive.  Come on H4!!  BTW best to use Firefox or Chrome when going into the Waypoint Website to set these up.  IE or IE based browsers like MSN sometimes will not show all the buttons and such in the Challenges area.
