EA to Reveal Battlefield 4 ‘In About 90 Days,’ Next-Gen Release Hinted At
2fat mentioned this to me last night, so I had to find out more!! Cant wait!
“We’ve already talked a little bit about that we have a Battlefield title coming next year, but we’re not in a position right now to talk about our development plans and our SKU plan long term,” said EA Labels president Frank Gibeau. “That will come in about 90 days when we get to show you some Battlefield stuff.”
EA CEO John Riccitiello also hinted at a next-generation version of Battlefield 4. “We think Battlefield and FIFA are going to help us lead as we move into the next set of technology opportunities and platform opportunities, and continue to get bigger,” he said.
Battlefield 4 is expected to release in October this year
Wait, wait, wait...... First they said the "beta" was coming out in fall and that the game would be an early 2014 release? Now we are at an expected October realease???? Will the next xbox even be out in October?
i have no freaking clue.. i was hoping someone else would have more insights!
I predict the next xbox will be out in Nov or Dec. I doubt Battlefield 4 will make it out before early 2014 but you never know. My fear would be they rush a half finished game out the door for launch.
I read somewhere else EA are planning a yearly release similar to COD. Not good.
Ciaran the problem with BF4 is that its made for PC gaming. The maps for Xbox didn't work. They are simply too big. You need 64 players min.
Now tell me about Bad Company 3 and I'm listening. This is our best bet.
I guess you mean BF3 E? I agree with maps like firestorm which I can play and not even see an enemy. However there are the close quarters and aftermath maps is you want to get close and personal.
Whatever comes next I am excited to play Battlefield on a next gen console.
Here's to hoping that the next gen consoles will be able to support more than 16 players. It seems like a reasonable assumption that they will given the focus that online gaming now has vs when the current gen consoles were being designed.
