Clubsport V2 base - $600 XBox One compatible wheel - ??? Fanatec still needs to announce if they are making an XBox One steering wheel for the Clubsport V2 Base and how much it would be. CSR Pedals - $80
Depending on how much an XBox compatible wheel will cost you could be looking at $900 plus for a Fanatec setup. Current steering wheel selections range from $180-$350.
Yes but if you want a single multi-platform option vs having 2 seperate wheels/pedals that you have to swap out in a rig may not be an option either. The good side is at least its a step in the right direction

I'm having a hard time justfying the cost.
Shaggy...Correct me if I am wrong....The Base will be good to go for some time hopefully (Future Consoles?)...Different Wheels will be compatible with different consoles (XBox One to None...PS4 to More)...Pedals good to go with the base...Need More Information on compatibility and future compatibility...If what I read to true...Interested!
P.(arcell)S. Reading a little...Invitations will be sent out for owners of Elite Wheels...Anybody know of time limits on this invite. Seems as if you have a Xbox One or PS3-4 if you buy now hold your hand and wait for Fanatec to announce who they are going to be compatible with and then wait for Rims to be manufactured....WHATTTTT??
hey poid good to see you still hanging around, i think were all hoping that we will get more people after xmas, but project cars looks good heres hoping
Cheers Gizzie. Drop in to check around pretty much every week. Lurking.
This place is my internet equivalent of a man cave and I have had great experiences from 2o4f and its crew.
From the old days of fm2 to fm3 I know I'll be back and as obsessive as ever. Just need the right platform and console racer. Reckon quite a number of the old crew will pop back when the right racing planets align I'll keep an eye on Project Cars
I'm trying Church buddy.
@Majong - count yourself lucky ;)
Hope to meet you when it all kicks off here again.
I'm very confident that will happen.
Off to pew pew pew in my new cockpit. Elite Dangerous is currently feeding the ocd bit of me
Cheers.
Poids
Poids really means that Majong...Over the years we've determined Poids is in fact a secret agent so you really don't want to meet up with him else it already could be over for you. Then again since we figured out he's a secret agent he might not be that great of one, hmmm.

Supposedly so since Fanatec's moving the console compatibility hardware to the rim and not the base. I would not assume any future console compatibility when making your purchasing decision. The potential is there, but only if the companies involved decide to continue the licensing agreements.
The Fanatec option is tempting, but it will require a substantial investment of at least $950, when you factor in the base ($600), rim (minimum of $200) and pedals (minimum of $150 for CSR Elite pedals). As Grim notes, the upside is that you basically have one wheel and pedal set for all of your sim racing, including PC, Xbox One and PS3/PS4. I personally cannot justify this new cost, as I have already invested thousands of dollars into sim racing equipment and will not be able to make any additional significant investments for a few years. So, for now, I am using my Thrustmaster T500RS for PC and PS3, and my Thrustmaster TX for Xbox One. Since the T500 is 2 1/2 years old, the TX is my back up to it.
The Thrustmaster TX is a nice option that you can get now, for $425, with a quality add-on rim, the GTE, and a functional, decent set of pedals. It will work on Xbox One and PC. That means that you can do Forza and Project CARS on your Xbox One, as well as many sim racing games on your PC. The only compatibility it lacks in PS3/PS4, but I do not really view that as a dealbreaker for Forza addicts. It is problematic for me because GT6 is still a game I play almost daily and will likely continue to do so for another couple of years, at least until GT7 is released. But, if PS3/PS4 compatibility is not a dealbreaker, then the TX is a nice option that is available now.
My Elite is all photographed and packed up and ready to go on eBay. Have not fired up Forza or gt6 for many months. FM5 is just not complete enough for me to lay down on the TX and an Xbox one.
Once I summon the courage to let go of the elite, which I love, I think I'll quietly tuck the proceeds away and start a little return to Forza 6 and fanatec fund. Really hope when that happens it is good enough that this place explodes with activity. The reception it gets here will be my measure.
The CSP's are going nowhere though. Going to tuck those up nice and warm. :)
Trigger Finger Points for V2....Wheel Compatibility for Xbox One...Wheel Compatibility for GT7...Club Sport Pedals I'll Keep!...Then try to dump Elite Wheel plus GT2 Wheel with shifter and stand!
Sounds great to Parcells BUT the article (maybe things have since changed???) clearly stated they only have a licensing agreement with one console maker so lets hope the second is definitely coming and....where the hell is my email offer from Fanatec? Anyone get one yet???....Craig you should have been near the top of the list.

Parcells...I noticed on the Fanatec site that if you click the V2 wheel the $599 price is slashed and $499 is showing...Also I was signed in. Not sure if it is because I own the Elite plus GT2 wheel or not.

Just tried that and on the purchase page it showed currently out of stock but also had a button there to "send me an email when product is available." so I did that. By definition I should be one of these VIPs too.
Started perusing the cubsport wheels...wholly crap they're expensive and it looks to me like none of them are compatible with the 360? Can anyone elaborate???...my Elite wheel works with the 360 and the Elite is pretty much idential to the initial clubsport base so wondering if this is strictly "officially speaking, they're not supported" but do in fact work with the 360? anyone know?

No, the Clubsport wheel is not compatibile with the Xbox 360. The Clubsport V2 version, like the V1 current version, will work with PC and PS3 out of the box, with Xbox One and/or PS4 compatibility coming later via add-on rims.
Thanks for confirming Craig. I trust Sean and his initial review sounded spectacular so considering getting on board if allowed to maybe, perhaps, we'll see. Said it before and will say it again, my current Elite wheel is going strong without one iota of problems for ~2.5 years now so surely something bad is in the near future, it's statistically likely.
Maybe I should check my current backup wheel to see if it still works...original fanatec Porche TS2(?) something wheel with a broken (but usable) left paddle shifter...that wheel is something like 5 years old, worked the last time I used it but hasn't been used in ~2.5 years so who knows.
Wheels are costly but when you work out the hours of enjoyment still some of the cheapest form of entertainment there is for those of us who enjoy it.
to rich for my blood

Yup. It appeals to me.
Just can't justify a next gen console for the current racing offerings.
Big hopes that FM6 (somewhere diwn the road) will offer something that will bring me out of this burn out I'm going through.
Oh, hi all BTW. Glad to see many still here, though obviously quiet.
See you on track at some point in the future.
Cheers

The biggtest selling point for me though is not having to swap out wheel bases and pedal sets to play different platforms.

It does sort of answer my dilemma.

I wont even consider it unless it offers Xbox One & PS3/PS4 & PC support which it sounds like it will with different rims.
As for discount email, I have not received anything yet

Parcels, I agree with everything both of you said. :-)
AGREED!!!
Just got the Elite owner email for the CSR 2.
Bastards. Tempters. ;)
you know you want to poid
Just a reminder for you guys thinking of a TX, Basher sells an adapter to get your CSP's working with it.
