Fanatec Rennsport Wheel Stand - Opinions Please
Due to an influx of new furniture into the home office, I'm no longer able to fix my racing wheel to the computer desk by drilling holes in the desktop. So, I'm thinking of getting one of the Fanatec wheel stands.
So, my questions to you are...
- Firstly, if you have one of these, do you think it would work okay with a normal office chair (adjusted to a lowish height)?
- Secondly, have you ever obtained as much enjoyment from your stand as the lady in this publicity shot below?
Thanks, N
I used one up until I got my rig, they are fine and pack away more or less flat. The upright has a tendacy to loosen a little in prolonged use but it's no deal breaker. The new ones like mine have an end stop for the pedals as well. I used it both as seen in the pic and with an office chair...and in answer to the last question...Race with Church LOL
To address the first question, YES, without a doubt. Been using the same Renncenn stand for 2.5+ years now and over the past few months have the much bigger Elite attached to it and still plenty sturdy. Without a doubt the most reliable Fanatec product I've used to date, its just what you need.
As for the second question I've never looked that good using my stand but have had similar levels of enthusiaism but must admit that probably had more to do with the equipment attached to the sturdy stand and of course some awesome racing buddies!
Sturdy, portable, worthwhile purchase if you don't have room/desire for sim rig.....
Yes. Do it. I don't think you'll find as stable of a platform for your dollar, short of fabbing something yourself. Period.
I've had mine for about 1.5 years now since I got my GT2 & Clubsports. There is a little movement, but when you think about the fact it's a portable stand...it's negligible. My GT3RS moves nearly as much on my new rig. In fact the GT2 is still on it for x360 & PS3 use.
Hello,
hhmmmm, I have to look here in Germany, if I would be able to buy this one. Never seen it before, but it seems to fit in my home and........ my wife would be so happy to have this one, as those old table from the garden with that kitchen chair, which is now "destroying" our living room, if I train or race.
So much joy (as this lady from the foto) I will have. In future. If i will win my first race against .... Y O U A L L ! Hey, I know that it would take some time, but dreams will come true, if you will fight for them! I do!

PS: What does that stand cost in UK?
They come from Germany, sold by Fanatec
I have one I use with my CSR wheel and pedals. Worth every penny in my opinion. Good solid construction.
I cannot say enough good things about this stand. Great price, solid construction. I have used it for my CSR and Clubsport pedals, and more recently for my CSR Elite (which recently failed) & Clubsports, and most recently for my T500RS, pedals and THR8S shifter. Here are some pics.

The shifters are mounted to the G25 shifter adapter plate, which comes with the Rennsport wheel stand. The bottom picture shows the CSR shifter. I took that off and later added the THR8S shifter, which is depicted in the top picture.

Okay folks. Thanks for the comments.
Fanatec's website has been creamed by people trying to buy the new wheel. When it comes back up I'll be getting one.
P.S. - I use mine with an office chair, which is set relatively low, and it works fine.
Excellent Stand....Solid..Got two...One for the GT-2 and One for the Elite Wheel. Only issue is the screw which locks the vertical section in line with the horizontal. Has a nasty habit of loosening no matter how tight I crank on it!

get a bit of locktite on the screw mate!
Kinda defeats the whole fold away idea though
I have the V2 version of ths stand and don't t have any issues with that screw loosening. Check what the end of the screw looks like. On mine it has a slight wedge/pointy shape. When I line it up with the hole in the horizontal portion, that screw locks into place really well - kinda like the tapered surface on the wheel lugnuts on my Audi. It's a little tricky lining things up initially but gentle wiggling of the vertical portion while slowly tightening has left mine rock solid. YMMV.
Sold and bought. I just have to wait for Fanatec's orders department to spring into action (so it may be here for Christmas if I'm lucky).
If its in stock, you should get it fast.
Arriving Friday.
Outstanding..Good Luck!!
Excellent you'll love it, take great care assembilng, It's easy to get a couple of things the wrong way around
Yes, I assembled mine incorrectly in December and for many months, the vertical post would come loose. It turned out that I installed the horizontal bar on the bottom the wrong way, and the knob for tightening the vertical post was not hitting a hole in the horizontal bar. Don't worry, you will know what I am talking about when you get the stand. If I understand correctly what he is talking about, skinw and wheels are discussing the same issue earlier in this thread.
Just be careful when you mount the horizontal bar on the bottom of the base. The holes should face outward, towards you.
Spot on Zero, did the same...
Well, that's installed okay, although my wife hasn't seen the outcome yet. I think it would have taken up less space screwed to the desk. :-)
I can't fault the construction though. With a wheel and a set of ClubSport pedals on it feels like it would be more at home rolling across the desert in El Alamein or sprearheading an assault on Stalingrad. It certainly weights as much as a light battle tank.
However, no time to actually play it for a few days now. Just have to be careful not to stub my toe on it.
Thanks for the pointers.
The Fanatec clamp on the CSR and Porsche wheels is crap. Hard mounting your wheel to the Rennsport is a much better, more solid solution.
I cannot say enough good things about the Rennsport wheel stand.
I didn't use the clamp before - as you say, it's crap. I drilled holes in the desk and mounted the wheel directly to it. However, that's not an option now because my wife's using the other desk and my one needs to be dual purpose for work. This looks like it will work out fine.
Heh, it is a weighty beast, the reason I still have one leaning up against the wall, the cost of shipping it from here is stupid money so I guess I am going to have to live with it unless some local farmer takes up sim racing.
Looks like I need to get one of these then.
Does the lady come with it?
When it comes to the Fanatec wheelstand, I think that seems to be one of the most popular questions on many of the forums I've come across. The other seems to be "Is she really having that much fun?" - Fanatec marketing for the Rennsport Wheelstand seems to have hit a homerun with that set of pictures

She is sitting on a buttkicker and hitting the rumble strips in game
