I tired to connect my optic cable from my PS3 to the warhead receiver and I was not able to get any game sound through the headset, I also called Tritton and they also informed me that it will not work with the PS3 game sound or online chat. Zero if you where able can you please tell me how you did your install to the PS3 . After hearing how awesome the Warheads sounded I had to purchase the A50 for my PS3 which by the way are equally as awesome. Will give a review on the A50 soon. I'm addicted !
I never tried my Warhead headset with my PS3. I use it exclusively for my Xbox, and rely on my Turtle Beach X-Ray headset for my PS3 and PC. I cannot fathom why the Warhead would not work with PS3 or any other device with an optical connection.
It does not work with anything but Xbox360 I tried hooking it to my PS3 and it does not work. The Warheads in paticular are completely licensed by Microsoft. That is why it looks so much like the Xbox slim design. Hooking it to my PS3 was the first thing I tried after testing it with my Xbox.

I have a set of TB X31's that I bought second hand.
The mic cable between the headset and Fanatec has a volume control for the mic output and a mute switch, never had any issues or complaints tbh.
Well looky there you 're right ! After a few wire placements "viola! "it works with the PS3. I must have done something different on my first attempt . The only annoying thing using them with the PS3 is the light ring is constantly spinning. I have to turn on the xbox so it can sync, only then will the light ring stop spinning. So now the question is do I keep the A50 ? Hymmm.....YES! With A50 I can chat on the PS3. Thanks Zero, sorry for my stubbornness.

Check the settings on your PS3 and make sure that the game sound is being outputted via the optical connection, rather than HDMI.
