No, it does not work. I noticed it yesterday when I tried to borrow some text from Shadow @ the Xbone Fuckery thread and paste it here but no dice. Can't paste anything as a comment post but I can still paste for a blog or thread title. Deep NNN is having the same problem so y'all can scale back on the "how to cut and paste" demonstrations...I am familiar with the process.
I'd say it's a setting in 8, or maybe an admin setting at work possibly? Of course if nothing apparently changed at your end, it might be something on the boards here.
