So afte a week or so with this game my impressions are immense. Just the driving part of this game is what horizon should have been. Loads of cars, police, car upgrades, massive map, off-Road driving, awesome races etc etc. The only issue I have is it now raises the bar I expect from games to an impossible high as none but Rockstar cab create a game as extensive and as complete as this. Hell there was no real day one dlc or anything. Kind of makes you think really considering this cost me the same os horizon and halo
Pretty amazing, I was really surprised there was no day one patch either, that is extremely rare these days. The fact that Rockstar can make such a huge detailed world with all the missions, activities, and side jobs really makes you wonder about Horizon when all their world had to be was for driving and racing. And the Horizon world isn't even completely open. Even the TDU-2 world was bigger and more detailed than Horizon. It was completely open also. Too bad the driving sucked on that game with a wheel.
Has anyone tried hooking their wheel up while driving in GTA V yet? I would, but I'm having some problems with my right leg at the moment. A friend of mine said he used to run GTA IV with a wheel and go into the online races and dominate. He said after a while the other guys would ask him how he was so good and he told them he was using a wheel and pedals. Most people didn't even know what he was talking about. He would have to explain it to them. He said there was actually decent ffb effects so should be the same this time. Someone please try it and let us know. Just keep a controller ready because if you ever leave the car you will need to turn off the wheel and turn on the controller to get around on foot.
Installed the play disc on the hdd but the install disc won't give me an install option, am i missing something? Edit:pressed play on the install disc to give me an install option??? Got it working now.

I think its recommended by Rockstar NOT to install the play disc
Hello gents, not been playing xbox much over the past few months I've been really busy and needed a brake, but I'm back for gta 5, bit of a gta fan as I've played everyone ever made. I can't wait for the online to start and look forward to robbing banks all wacked up on Scooby snacks with you lot.
FINISHED!!! The main story is done, got the credits screen. I'm still only 70 something percent complete though. I'm gonna keep working on some side missions and messing around until GTA online is ready. I think the online is gonna be great. We have quite the crew already. We should be able to kick some ass on there.
Good looking pics there...This brings up a question..How can I keep cars I have gotten/tricked out to stay at my HOUSE???...I know I can store cars in garages around town but when I put a car in my garage it isnt there the next time I boot up the game......
Try looking in the city pound for your cars, I've found that putting my private plate on them tends to ensure they stay put. Bu like you I've lost a few cars here and there but normally you can find then in the city pound, look on the map for a car symbol.
Ok question for you guys... I haven't tried this yet, but if you put a customized car in your garage (the ones you have to buy, not the ones at the house) will the car re appear in there if you take it out and lose or crash it? Or do you have to just find and customize another one?
Any vehicle other than your characters starting vehicle should respawn at the city pound if lost etc, not sure about destroyed will have to try that one, characters starting car will always spawn at safehouse.
Vehicles disappering from your garage is a glitch that Rockstar is aware of. Currently there is no work around. Here's a link to their support page with some suggestions to avoid it:
Answer: We have received some reports about problems with cars and garages, particularly after upgrading and then completing a mission, and are looking into this now. Unfortunately, we do not currently have a workaround to recover a car if it is missing. If you would like to receive an automatic email notification as soon as there is more information, please log into the Support Site and click Subscribe at the top of this page.
Also please note that vehicles saves in the garage of one safehouse (Franklin's Aunt's) may not show up in the garage of a different safehouse (Franklin's Vinewood Hills).
Update for 9/22/13: This issue may occur if you drive another character’s personal vehicle. We are looking into a fix to prevent this from occurring in the future. If you would like to receive an automatic email notification when the fix is live, please log into the Support Site and click Subscribe at the top of this page. In the meantime, please try to avoid parking a car in a garage, driving one already in a garage, or getting in a default vehicle, when playing as a character other than the one with your upgrades.
Update for 9/23/13: Here are some more tips:
Sign up for Social Club and store your cars in the Social Club garage, while doing missions.
If you lose a vehicle during a mission, try checking the mission start point, the character's safehouse, or the mission endpoint. Also check the impound.
Recover vehicles from the impound every time there is a vehicle there, if it is one you wish to keep, and take it to the character's Social Club garage. Cars in the impound can be overwritten with more recently driven cars if you do not retrieve them.
If you start a mission with a custom car, failing that mission by destroying the car or dying while inside it can cause the car to disappear. Try to avoid destroying personal cars on missions, or store them in the Social Club garage while playing through the story.
Also only two cars can be stored at the impound and it is always the last two that get left. So if you have a custom and leave it the drive two other vara and leave them the custom car gets binned. As Monkey says a fix is on the way.
If you havent already be sure to join our crew! You can also join more than one crew.

Now the info:
The Launch of Grand Theft Auto Online: From launch, up to 16 players can enter the world together to partake in everything from:
Open-World Crime and Chaos: Go on your own or round up your friends to explore the open world together – catch a movie, go mountain biking, hit the shooting range and much more. Want to test the law? Knock over a convenience store, take down a gang or rob an armored truck for easy cash and Reputation.
Jobs: Los Santos and Blaine County are ripe with opportunity for the ambitious and criminal minded. Take on Missions and an array of other Jobs as a lone wolf, team up with your Crew or join fellow mercenaries and degenerates to pull off a wide range of robberies and illicit activities together
Races: Everything from classic street competition and off-road tracks to boat racing on the open ocean, or take to the skies in aerial events. Jump into the madness of a GTA Race, or try out a brand new race type, Rally, where driver and co-pilot work together to navigate treacherous courses at high speeds.
Sports: Join your friends / any random stranger for a game of tennis, a round of golf or go base jumping and more, all for cash and Reputation.
Customization: Create your character using the Character Creator – then earn some cash and spend it getting dressed for success. You can also collect and customize cars for your garage and personalize your full weapons cache.
Reputation and Cash Flow: Reputation is earned from all your online exploits in everything you do in GTA Online – and will help you rank up, providing access to new features, weapons and criminal contacts. Spend cash you’ve gained on cars, clothes, guns, properties and much more. You can either quickly accumulate cash through profitable activities like knocking over armored cars, winning street races, doing stick-ups or a host of other cash-making endeavors – or if you’re the completely instant gratification type, you can choose to buy denominations of GTA$. You will have the option to purchase GTA$ through the in-game Store. The game and its economy have been designed and balanced for the vast majority of players who will not buy extra cash. There is no in-game paywall and nothing that should disrupt the balance of the game. You don’t have to spend real money to attain the cars, guns, clothes, flash and style of a high-roller in Los Santos, but can if you wish to get them a little quicker. The economy is balanced differently from the single player economy, and cash earned in one cannot be taken over to the other. Most players will earn cash much faster Online than in Story Mode.
Growing Pains: There will be the typical growing pains for an online game, including but not limited to crashes, glitches, crazy bugs, gameplay modes and mechanics that need re-balancing and other surprises! Even in GTAV Story Mode, some of you may have seen a few odd and evenamusing little glitches out there last week. This sort of thing is inevitable in a massive open-world game and there’ll surely be lots more unexpected oddities like this in the Online world next week – rest assured we’ll be monitoring and actively doing all we can to smooth such things out as they happen, but we need your help to find them, as well as your feedback to help fine tune all of the game's systems so everything is perfectly balanced.
Currently Planned GTA Online Content Updates: Here is a quick overview of a few initial things we’re working on for the first few weeks of Grand Theft Auto Online, alongside an aggressive period of tuning and finessing the game. We will give you dates for all of this content as soon as we have them – bear in mind that the order of things may well change, and we will probably add some extra stuff as well!
The Content Creator: The Content Creator will launch with tools to tailor and publish your own Deathmatches & Races.
The Beach Bum Pack: Featuring 4 new amazing beach fun vehicles, over 300 new items of incredible down tempo leisure wear and 2 new but not remotely relaxing weapons.
Capture the Flag: GTA Online’s take on the classic CTF mode including the ability to make your own using The Content Creator.
Heists: This update will introduce full-on cooperative Heist missions that will require careful planning, teamwork and sharp execution – along with the Heist Planning Board for your apartment.
Just to be clear, all of these updates will be free. We’ll have more info on this and much more additional content as our plans develop through the launch period, and as we get feedback from you. Please stay tuned for further info and updates. And remember – we need your help to make this experience all it can be.
So I have been putting off finishing this game. I have 3 missions left and really want more. So I have just been reading on the Internetz and GTA Online will have over 500 missions on launch with more to come. I better get the story finished
