Halo 2 Vista (PC) - Servers going down June 2013
Just a heads up if you didn't notice, the multiplayer servers will be forever gone on Halo 2 PC after 2/15/13.
If you have MP achievements left, would like to buy and complete Halo 2 w/achievements, or just have the game and would like to help others, let me know. I believe these may be able to be done over LAN, but considering how much any of us play PC at LANs, that could be a lost cause.

Update: I have completed all MP achieves - AND 343 has extended the servers until June 2013.

it's not like you care about achievements - you're still at 140 on Halo 4.
Out of what? They're purely accidental, I assure you. They're also purely multiplayer-based, too.
Wow, that brings back fond memories of Halo PC, HaloMaps.org, and many hours spent hanging around Yoyorast Island. Constant wrist pain ended my serious PC gaming phase a couple years ago and I only recently moved past Windows XP, so never had the pleasure of trying out Halo 2 PC. Sorry to see it go, nonetheless.
Thanks Lou. I've heard that private servers may still work, but it's unclear. I'd still like to finish the MP achieves before 2/15 anyway just to be safe.

Q: If servers will stay up a while, where can you buy the game?
I got wondering if I could find/buy it and play fast enough to farm a few points in the last days. Went on Xbox.com "Games for Windows" and saw Halo2 (PC) listed as a free download, so I pulled the trigger. I saw there were also free videos and trailers and such, so I triple-checked that the download I picked said "game". When it started to pull the file, though, then it said "video, 40MB". Sigh. Delete. Went back to marketplace, but much searching got me nowhere.
Tried playing my H2 disc a month or so ago. Hadn't realized game support goes away. Big drag.
buy it on Amazon for $19. That's what I did. You can get all the MP achieves in two days tops.
no you can't - once you input the code it is tied to your windows live ID. It won't work for anyone else.
Today is the day the music died.
