halo 4 full IGN coverage.
IGN has released a full coverge article, with plenty of videos, on all the features of Halo 4. Lots of stuff I like but even more stuff I don't (unless it can be changed in game settings) for example flag carries get magnums and cannot drop flag unless killed which totally changes a full tacticle approach to the CTF gametype. But at least I won't have to hear FLAG TAKEN FLAG DROPPED spammed anymore.
I have not seen anyone else post this so I will just paste link below.
Yeah, we've been talking about the flagnum for a while here, fella. I don't think I mid the change, personally. It adds a level of commitment to picking up that flag, especially if you have a power weapon in your grasp. I'm not sure how I feel about a slight buff for the flag carrier, though. We'll see how it works out.
The Flagnum and auto pick up/no drop, do not appear to be customizable from what I have read.
My only issue with the new mechanic so far, having not played it yet, is not being able to choose whether or not you pick up the flag. That scares me the most _because_ you can't drop it.
I see it as, wow I can shoot without dropping the flag and losing track of it to say nothing of the latency issues with picking it up again.
Oh well, 6 more weeks.
I am into the, "I am so tired of waiting mode". Even looking for news is tiring me out. I wanna play Halo 4.
Let's say you're moving along, or around a corner, your teammates kill the flag carrier and you happen to stumble across them. Surprise. You now have the flag.
Good thing there's giant beacons over the objectives now so you always know where to go and won't accidentally stumble into the flag carrier unless you weren't looking at the screen at the time ;)
Maybe. Maybe not. It's probably dependent on playlist. Same with the grenade proximity indicators. Besides, are you telling me that you've never got into that kind of situation?
It's like, people are thinking it's going to happen to them, in every game and always when they have a super duper power weapon.
Yeah, you might lose because of the unlikely odds of it happening but if the game isn't for money, then it's just one game. Not an endless string of games.
Of course it has never happened to me. I haven't played Halo 4 yet :D
But yeah, it might happen on the rare occasion, but I'd see myself saying "Oh well! Let's score this flag!"
I just want to be able to drop it. Even if they put it on a 10 second delay. I just want the ability to correct a mistake.
I just watched the Halo 4 CTF narrated video on IGN. I saw the INCINERATION CANNON and dear lord does that look awesome. I can't wait to use that weapon!
