informal races?

So I'm just getting back into racing after a long layoff.  When i did this before I would often come across informal races, kind of like a pick up game of B-Ball.  I'm probably just not on at the right times or need to update my friends list, but I haven't found any of this type of activity this time around.  Is this still going on much?  I'm on during the day on weekends and sometimes in the afternoons (when I can sneak away from work)  Pacific standard time. If anybody sees me on and is hosting a lobby, I'd appreciate an invite.  Still a great group of helpful folks.  Its a pleasure to once again be involved with you all.

Thanks!

Dave

If you're on this afternoon Dave join us for the Smorgasbord open starting at 2:45 EST. It's represented as a formal event in respect that it is advertised and planned but it is 100% informal, you can wear whatever you want. If you need to race in the buff just keep it to yourself and dont tell anyone OK?

Unlike you Parcells who seems to feel the need to tell us when you are racing commando.

An informed group is a synergized group.

Anyways, it looks like Dave has his answers now so perhaps we should let the thread taper off.

Make sure you have the right people on your friends list. Seems like 8pm est and later is best. Or was. I'm not on as much myself.

New Gf is taking up my racing time these days. I seem to only make it on about once a week right now. I'll make it back to a regular schedule eventually, but pussy takes priority.

Don' forget you can always start up a casula lobby  use the "invite club members" option to maybe invite some folks who may not be on your list. Also remember the club FOF gamertags. I think you're on one of them.

burst my bubble?  Parcells, stop touching the other drivers84

Yeah, so back in the day i enjoyed many hours of run what ya brung racing, the only limitations being the class chosen by the host.  At that time Cotter was the glue and kind of kept everybody racing.  I've often thought I should share the load with this.  Its such a great way to get to know new folks and learn about racing in a truly informal setting.  I'm a college prof and my teaching load ends for the summer in two weeks.  At that time, I'll give hosting pickup races a shot.

JC, keep an eye out for me in a lobby. I frequently log on and see everyone piddling around tuning, painting and running season events and then kindly rescue them from the mundaneness that is their lives with a pick up lobby.

Random classes, trackes etc. Rarely there is a theme, but we have run some R3 runs of late, some good fun, and good practice for those that tend to shun them as there's no pressure, except the occasional finger pointing and belly laugh, but Parcells doesn't get on much...

Usually run anywhere from C- R3, usually skipping the traction challenged S class, and once in a blue moon dipping below C.

Oh, an Audi with Batman ON it. Okay. I was thinking about the Lambo he drove in one of the last movies.

If you get a chance, go into the Manufacturers showrooms and look up Panoz Abruzzi, hehe, That's a Batmobile, just imagine it in black...
