Interest Check --- Multiclass Races
Multi-Class race.
6 tracks 6 cars
Choose 1 car per class per track
Once a car/class is used it is not allowed to run again.
The Classes are S-A-B-C-D-E
Cars have no restrictions other than the PI in their Classes
Tracks are:
Cataluyna GP. 6 laps
Hockenheim Nat. 6 laps
Suzuka west 6 laps
Positiano 10 laps
Tsukuba 10 laps
Infinion long 6 laps
Don't know about running this on multiple day or in one day.
This will be run on Friday nights. Could be run Saturdays if there is enough interest from across the pond.
Questions? Comments?
So, an abreviated track day, except actually changing tracks?
Might wanna adjust laps up for the quicker cars?
Not a tracl day. Racing for points (sorry that wasn't in OP) Racing mixed Classes on each track.
A driver picks an E class will race against S class or any one of the other classes, win or lose. Once that class/car is used it is no longer eligible for the series. So the driver that uses the E class and the S class will cross those class' off his list and cannot run them again. Now we are down to just 5 classes for each and that is the way it will go to the end 4,3,2,1.
To enter the series, pick one car from each class and that is your entry list. You will race each class once.
The idea is not every one will pick the same class car on the given track. No one driver will dominate.
Sounds great!
YES!
Saturday is better for me though.
Might show up as a spoiler occasionally, but Fridays are bad for me ost weeks since it's jam night.
I get on a little late Fridays but I usually get on soooo OK
So, and this is just for explanation purposes, if only 6 were to do this, and all six picked their own class, all 6 would win every time and all 6 would end up tied theoretically? Not that that would actually happen, but it could?
I already see the variables and choices made playing into the points would be quite interesting.
Jimmy, I can easily screw up that theory. If i choose an s class car and you choose C, you'll still win!.gif)
Sounds like fun. You know me, I just want to race. The more track time the better. Are you going to run a few testing events first?
@ old School yep that would be the case, theoretically. Yeah the idea is try and think about where you might be strong and where you might be a little weak.
@ GGG I have been thinking of doing a little test session with this just to see how it works out and try and iron out the wrinkles. Need more interested though, would like to have more then 6 for a test run.
Name the time and place and I'll do my best to be there
Umm, Jimmee, there's only 4 buckets, how are you going to score/track it? Sounds like a nightmare.
This is heads up racing. no buckets.
a driver will that picks a E car is going to face an S class car, but then he can chose an S class and someone else will pick a E class.
It will all depend on the cars picked for each track. You cannot use a Class more than once.
A driver that uses his S,A and B cars in the first 3 races will only have C,D and E classes left. fir the last 3 races.
Wait, so the S class probably wins every race? There's no individual class scoring?
nope.
This might happen but I don't think it would unless there is some collusion boing in the back rooms
Depending on the track an A class could win.
once you have picked your car on screen then you are stuck with it, no changing.
I have considered that each driver will submit the car they plan to run at each track and go with that, don't want to do it that way though.
This is a work in progress. keep it coming
Jimee, I've always loved multiclass racing, I'm still trying to wrap my head around what your trying to do with the scoring. I'm sure you have it all figured out in your head. Here before long my Evora Series will be ending, 2 more races. I figured I'd give you first dibs on it since I kinda took it over from you since the start. Sat @ 9 pm.
I had assumed from the earlier description that each class would be scored independently, and the strategy would be simply having more people than classes available would drive the points race. I mean, who wants to pick C class knowing they aren't going to win?
If it's independently scored, then assume the first 6 people pick a class they can win, the next 4 pick a class they think they can win, again evenly distributed. So , any given race, there could be 4 classes with 2 people competing, and two classes open for wins. In the example below, first race D and E are open wins. Last race D and E are.
And if there's 12, 14 16, 18 people, it really changes the outcome.
If its any consolation Jimmie Parcells understood your plan from the original post with zero questions, well documented! Some of these clowns may be pulling your chain to test your breaking point :)
It took me a min to see what you were doing there oldschool. But I have it in my head now. Not bad on the plan actually. Keep it organized. All you have to do is remember what class you started off in and you'll know what to race next. Organization actually makes it easier.
Cooter, that's an example if everyone followed suit and stayed with a general direction on their picks. No one's gonna do that, it'll get all complicated and hard as crap to track to win.
Well, you really would have to keep track of what everyone else ran, to know where your best opportunties would be later on. kinda like playing chess somewhat.
I thought I understood the concept but oldschools example makes no sence to me and now im confused. Oh well
Don’t worry about it Grimm, Oldschool confuses himself every other day and we have zero members who he hasn’t confused so just nod your head like you’re paying attention and he’ll go to another thread soon enough :)
Ok here is a example of how this would work:

Idea sounds awesome if you asked me....
Basically you choose the tracks you expect to do the worst in to race the lower classes because you will probably get beat on those tracks even in higher classes. The tracks you are good at, choose higher class cars.
To develop a strategy you would need an entire track list ahead of time. The series that run with the track being decided the day of the race wouldn't accomadate this.
or just pull out your best cars from each class and go with it..gif)
@ Stewie
I'm trying to think but nothing happens!
