edit: these aren't final if you already didn't know.
Did I see a Unicorn with nunchucks? Whats next, Sharks with frickin laser beams attached to their heads?
Pretty nice info.Im liking what i see.
I really hope you are correct when you say they aren't final. Why take 'throw grenade' off LT in Bumper Jumper? I assume this is because of the forced sprint mechanism built into the game, takes up another space. I'd rather have the AA on a button or the d-pad.
Hmm, probably go with default again. Have they said anything about look acceleration? Is it the same as previous Halo titles or different? I need to figure out my look speed.
A rmor A bility
Agreed.
Also, hints about rank and matchmaking: http://www.gameranx.com/updates/id/7842/article/halo-4-info-blowout-ranking-system-piggback-rides-more/
I'll try to find it later but I read where Frankie said that hidden rank idea was just an an idea they were exploring. I got the feeling no coding has occured.
I've heard a little bit of chatter about it as well, but nothing definitive. Man, it's almost like we have to piece things together to get a hold of any informatino, and it's doled out so thinly, it's hard to paint a complete picture. Man, if only there were a way to test this game before it came out and know some of these rudimentary things for sure...
The problem is the Gaming Media uses sites like NeoGAF and THC as a source for their articles when the developers are not feeding them anything new. Dribs and drabs of cryptic conversations are quickly taken out of context. Usually they do quote sources like NeoGAF.
The funny part is how different people on NeoGAF, who are out of touch, read the media articles, repeat them and spur a vicious circle of bad gaming news.
A lot of stuff passes my eyes but I do filter it a bit. Not only do I not want to look completely stupid but I don't want to waste people's time.
It's tough enough dealing with the fallout from accurate news bits and reveals.
For a billion-dollar industry, they sure do seem to have shit news and, very frequently, shit PR.
The main thing I don't like about Bumper Jumper is that sprint is on the buttons. I'd much rather have the AA on the buttons.
I also might try the CoD layout Fishstick. It would be nice if you could zoom in CoD style. I don't know how many times I accidently zoom when I'm in a close quaters fight.
I'm not sure I really see the point of having playlist ranks visible only to the individual. The reason people like these number ranks is to put their skill on display for others to see. In essence this would be the same as what we already have with The Arena, but even worse.
At least you can display your division placement in Arena (if you bothered to play enough), but if H4 makes it harder to show your skill ranks, then what is the point?
Granted, I'm not a good player and never reached 50 in H3 or Onyx in Reach, but I would find it even more meaningless to have ranks only I can see. Sure it would perhaps give me some incentive to rank up but not near the incentive to play were my ranks visible for all to see (and laugh at).
If this game has been in production for 3 years, how can they not have a ranking system/plan locked down?
Bungie said it and now Frankie/343i are saying it. The grief related to the poor behavior is not worth enabling visible (to everyone) ranks. I believe them.
343i can certainly come up with a good formula for ranking.
I get your point and as somebody that only made it to 36 in H3, I certainly understand what it's like to be continuously walked over by boosters, cheaters and restart 50s.
However, after Reach, I almost want H3 ranks back...almost...
I'm just saying, it's not like this is a new problem that they have not had a LONG time to think about.
It looks like I'll be going Recon again. It will take some time getting used to Sprint being where its at but im sure it will become natural.
My problem with the H2 and H3 ranks was that you ranked up to fast. I hit 43 in Team Slayer in the first 3 weeks and never could get past that and I played for 3 years.
That's not necessarily a bug, although getting rank locked was a pain in the ass.
I loved the ranked lists til I flattened out. Even with the booster it didn't really bother me. I thought my 43 was really accurate to my real skill level. I just wish the ranking up would of taken longer.
Yeah, it seemed that the easiest road to your 50 was playing one playlist like crazy in the beginning and sticking with it until you got it or boosting after everyone was settled/ranklocked.
I'll just have to buy a vision camera and make it my gamepic then :)
If it's visible, it can be displayed :)
