Interesting Tidbit Re: Forza Horizon 2

I thought that Horizon was a good first effort from Playground Games. It just lacked depth when compared to its Motorsport cousin. We knew they were going to release FH2 on XB1 but then I saw this tweet from Forza Motorsport. Not quite sure what to make of this.

Quote:
@ForzaMotorsport: X1 version of Horizon 2 is built on the Forza 5 engine, led by Playground. X360 version is built on Horizon 1 engine, led by Sumo Digital.

Parcells interprets it as they watered down the design/build effort by splitting resources on different consoles and the final product will suffer because of it.

But keep in mind they are using engines and physics that are already built and ready to go.

In the case of the X1, and open world racing game using the Forza 5 engine?  Sign me up!  This vs The Crew, who will win?

Liked the idea of the car meets very much. Was a good read imo. Thx for posting that Giz.

And, yes, all the training you’ve done for your Forza Motorsport 5 Drivatar will translate right over to Forza Horizon 2

Great, so the AI will be driving like douchebags?  ;)

Assuming it's like the first horizon, driving like a douchebag was highly encouraged to increase your score.

Does this mean the car models are directly ported over? Begs the question just how much is ported over and how much might be shareable?

Or it might not be a direct port over and the cars WILL handle differently again, like last time. Honestly the damn paintbooth put me off in the last version. I won't even look at it until I can see what's going on inside.

I feel like the old guy rambling about something but I been saying it since the begaining. The reason they brought out the first one was to get the weather dynamics dailed in for Forza 5. Since they where in the rush to put it out there to take over what Test Drive Unlimited 2 left behind. The weather got put onto the back buner. Now that they have the new system out. They are doing it again so we can have it in the next installment of Forza. So you might want to consider in looking into the game since it will tell you where the next installment of Forza is heading.
