I also received the one from Cotter (2O4C) Central last night, but not one from ShaggySoCal (2O4F) West. I tried to accept this morning, but I kept getting a message that stated the Forza Server is down. I am thinking that the West club is better due to time similarities.
If I were you, I'd go for the west division since that's where you'll find mor e folks on your schedule. That plus the fact that it won't let you into my division. I dunno what's up with the servers, but it's pretty common for folks to have trouble joining lately.
Kevin, I'll have Shaggy send you an invite from the west division too.
My name is Doug, my friends call me "Dawg," and I'm a 45 year-old gamer that first got my start in video games during the Apple II/ TRS-80 era. I stuck with PC gaming for a long time, but got burnt out having to buy new rigs, video cards, etc. to keep up. I then made the jump to consoles with the original Xbox and Forza 2 and have loved the game since. I play a variety of other games, but nothing has sucked me in like Forza. I'd consider myself a decent tuner, poor painter and although I have some respectable lap times, don't know the art of racing all that well. I could help new members, but could most certainly learn a lot from the folks here.
To pay the bills I'm a networking engineer for a bank in Mishawaka, IN. I notice there are a number of musicians here, and I play bass, guitar and keyboards. I've been in several bands playing bass and rhythm guitar. I'm just getting keyboard chops, mainly for recording purposes. I composed and recorded a soundtrack for some friends' indpendent horror film and it was a blast. I'd like to do more composition and recording.
I also enjoy reading and cooking.
My gamertag is "dawgbitedelarma" - feel free to hit me up with a friend invite and I look forward to some racing fun with you all!
Thanks, guys. I used to run a forum a looooong time ago and I know it's a lot of work and can be a thankless job. I really appreciate having you guys, the rest of the mods, etc. organize a community for Forza and gaming.
My name is Steve and I’m an over 50 Forza addict. Gamer tag: G35Gomba.
Location: West Coast, near Seattle, -8GMT
Married for a long time now. My daughter is in her first year away at college and my son plays baseball for his HS when he’s not busting my chops for his driver’s license.
Other than a brief flirtation with Amped several years ago, it’s been strictly Forza for me. I picked up a copy of FM2 about 4 years ago and was instantly hooked. I lurked, occasionally posting on the various forums picking up tips and trying them out, slowly improving my abilities (can’t really call them skills as I still suck). Soon I found my fingers wrapped around a MS wireless wheel only to discover that I needed a proper mount to bolt it down. A Playseat arrived shortly after.
With the arrival of FM3, I discovered the short life span of the MS toy wheel. That was about the time I found 2O4F. I ordered a Fanatec PWTS and CSP, then waited … and waited….. for …. a while…. Not long after I was up and running again, my xbox went RRoD. I had to take break before replacing it. When I saw FM4 about to be released, I pre-ordered and have been playing pretty constant until baseball season, then picked it up again about 6 weeks ago.
For the most part I have been content with single player. I never felt compelled to venture online, especially after reading all the horror stories of others who braved that domain. I prefer A class and below, mainly because I suck at any of the R classes. Must be the age thing. In general I’m more interested in improving a personal best than being at the top of a category. I’ve enjoyed rivals, track days and such but up to now have been avoiding the public lobbies for all the usual reasons. Tried the Horizon demo and decided that isn’t my cup of tea. Definitely sticking with FM4.
Recently I saw the post on FM.net about BritProCar and was intrigued. I’ve always enjoyed Silverstone as it is quite a fun track when you get it right, even though I always blow it a turn or two on every lap. Spent the last few days building a couple of cars and really enjoyed the challenge of running slicks. Thought I might give it a go and see what happens. Not really sure what I need to race online in a lobby.
You'll quickly find that running with the guys here is nothing like running in the public lobby rooms. I used to strictly play offline as well...now I've done a complete reversal. The only time I'm on FM4 not in a 2O4F lobby is when I'm building/tuning/painting for a 2O4F event.

What Sherb said except Parcells does very little building/tuning/painting. Parcells focuses more on &
That said, watch out for this Sherb character, he's sneaky and has numerous aliases.
You found the right place Steve but of course you already know that.
If Parcells had any concern over your membership is you may try to class things up around here therefore shining light on Parcells lack thereof.
Welcome to the community - Firstly, i can never stress this enough with to new people - we have the most helpful bunch of people here. So if you need any thing then please post up or as :) We have every thing from racers, tuners, painters, instructors - all skill levels :)
I hope you enjoy your stay, BritPro car will be a hoot :)
I seem to do OK tuning as I think its my driving that holds back my times not the tune. I use a calc to set a baseline and tweek from there as needed. I can't paint worth a lick to where I struggle just putting a number on the car, lol Sad really. So I guess one needs a mic or head set to communicate in the lobby? How does one go about hooking one of those up with a wheel? Any suggestions for what to pick up there?

Most headsets for Xbox require a pass through the wheel or controller. The problem is that the Fanatec wheels cause problems for many headsets. My Elite, for example, will not allow any headset chat function to work. So, I dropped $300 for a Tritton Warhead headset, which has chat that interfaces directly with the Xbox and completely bypasses my Fanatec CSR Elite wheel. If $300 is too rich for your blood, try the M$ wireless chat headset. Its $40 or $50. I did not like it, but other guys with Fanatec wheels have successfully used it.
New to this and Forza online, I would like to get involved with the Brit Pro Car scene, and hopefully pick up a lesson from someone who knows what they're doing.
I used to play Grand Turismo to the point where I wore out all my ps controllers when I was a kid, but have not really got back into racing sims since. Ive now just sorted out my xbox live account, gamertag (squishie face) and would like to progress online.
Hopefully coming to a race track near you soon. ps im in England GMT.
Hello everyon! I'm Mark from Virginia. I'm a 58 oldie but goody. I got back into playing console games last year. Still love the racing games and shootem up's. I've played rock 'n roll for over forty years, and still play bass guitar in a local 80's Hair band (hair not included). Forever young...right? Looking forward to some friendly racing with you guys! Cheers!

OK, I haven't played in a while but I just figured out how to quit my old club. I also received both club invites:
1 from ShaggySoCal (2O4F) West
1 from Cotter (2O4C) Central.
Which one should Kevin and I join? I was thinking West might have more people on our schedule but not sure it matters.
Let me know.
Thanks
Justin General

Sounds good.
I'll accept Shaggy Socal's invite today and hopefully he will send you an invite soon.
You guys sorted now?
Yes. I think Kevin just needs a Club invite from Shaggy SoCal and we are good. Once that's done I think we can stop filling up this thread.
Dont worry about it fella its all good
I just like to see people get sorted.
Right time to put some laps in on Forza. Anyone on now?
I just like to see his avatar...
So do I oldschool.
So do I
Me 3 !!!

Thanks jcotter13. I appreciate your help.
Y'know... I need to keep my eyes on this thread more often. Justin. Looks like you accepted the club request for the West club. Cool.
Kevin, I see your request to join the West club on My Forza. I'll approve your request this evening when I get home.

Welcome to the site!
It helps with a Mic but a few don't run with them so it isn't totally required.
In regards to the Wheel / mic setup someone who uses a wheel should be along shortly to help as i'm a pad user.
Cheers
i use the shitty MS wireless, it does the job
