I just realized I haven't run more than 3 laps on Indy in FM4 and probably 30 or less total EVER.
I need to learn the track but man, that Vette takes a bit to understand. I only ran 6 laps or so, so i will get it down, but if this guy does put some effort into it, it could be tricky.
TCS on or off? That is the one question I have to answer. I think I might benefit from it as I learn to take the corners throwing a little more power down on exit, so I might throw it on.
@psyber: I'm not up to your level but TCS really helped me. Getting the power down without it is so tough with that car especially with so may 2 gear corners.
I've got him as a favorite. Set a dirty time a couple of tenths of his time and found him in the list.
Do a storefront photo search for my gamer tag, pull up my storefront and view my favorites. JuanPMontoya42 should be in the list. Add him as a fav and you can keep track of his time.

So far in my Friends/Club list 14 folks are good for now with a bunch right near the time!
I am ahead but will run to try to drop it down just in case this guy keeps at it since there is over 2 weeks left for him to keep at it. I want me a Lambo Unicorn!

I stopped paying attention to Rampage after the first week since it didn't look like he was ever going to run a clean lap let alone set a fast time. JPM will be a bit different. World class driver and a gamer to boot. Definitely the toughest Celebrity Rival to date.
Last I checked only 5 of 27 on my Friends/Club list are quicker at the moment.(You're one of them) Three are within a second and the rest seem to be off the pace. It could be they just set a lap time and were waiting to see what Juan did. I dunno.
JPM's got consecutive Cup dates for the rest of March. Hopefully driving his Cup car will limit his time in the virtual one, but I'd suspect we'll see him on track once more before the end of the month.

Actually, Cup drivers have a lot of time to kill on race weekends and most have gaming rigs in their motorhomes....
He's probably busier travelling during the week on sponsor obligations....at the race track they only have a few hours on the track on friday and saturday...maybe a couple of hospitality/ sponsor apperences....but most of the time they are cooped up in their motorhomes 'cause if they tried to just wander around they'd get mobbed.
I'm still ok, but not by much. Another 6/10ths and I'm out
I'm a bit too close for comfort now.
Looks like I need to chase you round for a bit this time Pap.
I continued to chase you, but I just couldn't catch you chosen. You set a really quick time on that absolutely wonderful piece of modern day technology! Well done mate!
Unless Juan sets a faster time I'll be leaving this one alone too. Gonna start finding more interesting ones like the track days. Couple guys beat me in the last couple days so I'll have to get back to Laguna this week.
Watched JPM's lap. IMO he's pretty aggressive and his excellent car control skills are evident. However I think his aggressiveness slows him a bit as he may be scrubbing too much speed in the corners. He also had to lift through the last turn which may have cost him a few tenths.
What also surprised me was that was his second lap. I guess once he beat whoever he set as a rival he ended his session. That may hurt his ability to really set a fast lap.
At least for now I can say I'm faster than Juan Pablo Montoya.
I am ok for now, I have a .5 second cushion. I know I left some time on the track so I if I have to improve I can. I have 21 people on my friends and club list ahead of Juan and another 31 behind him. Many of those behind Juan I know have some skills, so I don't think a lot of them have really tried yet. They need to get out on the track now in case Juan decides to really go after it.
This challenge runs for the entire month although my lead over JPM isn't by much. I'm not a glutton for punishment, so I'm going to wait till the last week to see what time I have to beat before spending more time swearing at the screen. I suspect all the other alien drivers who are behind him now on my FL are just doing the same thing. Or maybe they already have the Unicorn that will be given out.
I thought the stock Hyundai Veloster was bad. Well, in comparison, the untuned Weismann and ZR1 are worse.
PS--if you're a Forza VIP, make sure you post a time at the Ring in that Lambo to win another Unicorn. That one is way easier--just post a time. No target time to beat.

????
What's the question again?
For those that didn't follow, there was a Hyundai Veloster challenge in Jan where you drove around in a stock Hyundai 3 out of the 4 events. That one was to win a real life Hyundai but was only open to people who registered ahead of time.
The VIP Challenge only appears in your monthly rivals list if you are a Forza VIP--meaning you bought the LCE Forza (I think that's the only way?). It's basically a hot lap of the Ring in a Lambo. The voting for this event was up on Facebook. Looks like there will be another for next month. So VIP's actually are going to get more opportunities for easy Unicorns.
So essentially, three Unicorns for VIPs to "win" this month. One from the CBH, one from KOTT (with JPM) and one from the Monthly Rivals hot lap the Ring in a Lambo.

Got all that?
This is what I was ???'ing about. I must have missed that. I'll be looking at that tonight.
I thought I was out of the running on this one, but it appears that the reports of Juan running a 1:31.1 were greatly exagerated. His time appears to still be a 1:32.117.
Anyone confirm this? Would be really sweet if they had the damn time posted somewhere.
Ok it's up on Facebook under King of the Track. It wasn't there for a long time so I don't even know when it went up. Confirmed his time is still: 1:32.117
Yep. There are several "little" things I'm going to bring up with Doodi, but I'm going to let things settle down a little bit before bombarding him.
Wow.

Do we even know what the prize car for this is yet? I can't find it.
Got it! Apparently it's the LP640.
And don't foget you get an Aston Villa (not the football/soccer team) from the March DL just for participating and posting a time.
About time i had a chance to get this car!!!
Now how to get my M3
got him 131.421 with tc see if he improves. I hate this track so much.
Does anyone have Juan on there favorites so I can keep track of him?
Thanx Shaggy
Hey Shag, thanks for the update!

I'm three seconds off the mark, and really not too hopeful...
I'll start working on this on Thursday night. Should keep me entertained or frustrated for a night or two.
So I set a clean time, and thought I'd be good, now I need to scrub off 4 more seconds on a car I can't tune? Fuck.. no unicorn for me....
Juan ain't giving up......he's in the low 1:31's now
i had a chance before...only needed 4 tenths more....but that pretty much puts me out...i don't think i can cut off another second
edit: nevermind...i got some incorrect info...he's still at a 1:32.1 clean
