MX-5 Cup Car- series anyone?
Anyone interested in a series in FM6 with this car? I can do Monday night but I know that the guys already do Monday night madness. My guess is most people will want to run that as well. I don't want to create a conflict but Monday is my only night. Let me know guys. If there is enough interest we can run a shakedown next week.
We do have an MX5 series running Sundays 8PM BST about to start if you would like to join that one the thread is in the forza sub forum :)
What time are you wanting to run it? I am waiting on the adapter to show up, so I can use my mic.
I would be interested . What time would it be at , I can only do after 630 pm (eastern time) on weekdays any time on weekends. i would need a tune if tuning is allowed.
Still working on this guys. This is the build so far:
Race Tires, Race Differential, Sport Trans. (I am pretty certain that this build is it, I want to keep it simple)
I am still deciding on a specific gear ratio. The only thing that will NOT be tunable is the final drive. Tracks will be a mix of medium and short layouts. More racers means more fun for everyone in the field. Juan Derecho and I ran a few laps at Lime Rock and Monza. It was good fun.
If you try the car please let me know what you think. I know it's not a rocket or anything like that but it will be lots of fun with 10 or more drivers. The more the merrier.
EDIT:
Final Drive = 4.41 You can tune any other settings but you must have this value as the Final Drive gear ratio. As far as the Diff Settings go: you can use whatever setting suits your driving style and abilities. Same with suspension settings.
Try the following tracks: Lime Rock Full, Monza Full Alt. (minus the first chicane), Sebring Short, Road Atlanta
Any feedback is appreciated.
what about tyre width snappy, stock of full ?? and you should think about making the aero a fixed value for your close racing
Mondays work great for me. Love running the mx5's.
I will get the car built and hopefully join ya next Monday
Built and painted.
Awesome! Have you driven it yet? What do you think? It's not a fast car, obviously but with enough racers involved there will be some good battles.
I did take it out at Lime Rock, a track I'm not real familiar with and it handled well despite me driving too deep into a few turns. It didn't snap, and you could turn the wheel and kick it in the ass and it would turn in a bit but not a lot. I haven't done anything to it but adjust the final drive to spec, so I'm sure there's some tuning room in her? As a short track car I think she'll be pretty fun.
As a pet peeve of note, the factory rear lip on the trunk is NOT paintable guys, so make sure whatever color you want that thing to be, you'll have to start with the car that color and work around, my car for example, is yellow base coat. EVERYTHING else IS paintable, mirrors, wheels, all of it. LOL, I did my mirrors n wheels in chrome just cause they were black.
I'll run,was already thinking about this series.
Obviously I'm late for the test run, but I'd be interested in being part of this; I just ran the Mazda MX-5 Factory Spec event and was thinking it was a fun car. Early-ish Monday evenings is a good time for me, too. I have two questions, though: 1) I see a thread on getting a race number on the main forum. Is that necessary for this event, or can we just show up? 2) Forgive the newb question, but what defines a "Cup Car"? Is it a particular PI, set of upgrades, or does it mean racing stock (as in the Factory Spec Challenge)?
The "Cup" car is a specific Mazda in the game, a model if you will.
The getting a number post is a 2 old 4 forza wide listing of everyone in our little gang and what number is officially held within our organization for all of the races we run. For instance, my number officially here is 7. All cars I run in any 2o4f races will have 7 on it.
This doesn't apply to informal spur of the moment races or things like the weekly Wednesday afternoon track days.
It aids the coordinators and the painters so that you don't end up with a car with a different number on it and get misidentified OR have to change a paint down the road.
I see, thanks for clarifying. I'll be sure to check out the car and claim a race number.

I would like to race MX-5. Not sure I have the cup car yet? but I do have a MX-5 with a good livery from SweedishThunder. Hope I get # 10 assigned. Any chance we can add Tuesday or Thursday night racing at or after 8:30 PM central?
