New CSR Pedal Filter (non-Elite)
New CSR Pedal Filter (non-Elite)
I wanted to mention this to the group in case any of you were interested. I just released a new pedal filter specifically designed for the CSR standard pedals. So far I have read a number of forum postings and hear personally from several people that have had problems with these pedals already. (I have a set and I like them btw) ;)
This is a drop in replacement for the board that comes in the pedals. Swapping the boards takes a screwdriver and about 5 minutes of your time. :) No extra boxes, cables, etc.
Here's the original board:

Here's the new board I designed:

Here's the instructions for installing it so you can see how simple it is: http://www.basherboards.com/PF1_BB%20-%20Instructions.pdf
Bloody hell bash, nice work :)
One of these if on it's way to me as I type. My pedals are still fairly clean signal wise but there is a slight jitter so I thought I'd nip it in the bud so to speak. As has been reported already the sevice is second to none, and email confirming purchase arrived shortly after I had sent the cash via Paypal and and email this morning with shipping number. I will report back when it arrives and is installed.
Glad you guys like it. :D It's pretty neat now it just drops right in there. Maybe Fanatec will buy some :p (they bought one of the boxes already lol)
That was the first thought that went through my mind - However they may want to buy the design :)
I wish lol
They could certainly just copy it too, but enough people know about it now that it might seem a little underhanded for them to do so. I wouldn't care all that much honestly, as long as they gave me credit for it. Doing these is just a way to get my name out there so when the day comes that I release something bigger, people can trust me. :)
I have two things coming out in the very near future, hopefully, that are pretty kick ass.
As Bash can make them and send them at a price most of us don't even have to think twice about, Fanatec would be mad not to buy the design. The very fact they exist highlights a flaw in their pedals and for them to incorporate that board would not raise the cost more than a couple of quid in manufacture...Never mind that, if I was them I'd give him a job!
LOL, you are totally right though. If the parts were purchased in quantity, which they would be if they started using this design instead, they'd be looking at a very minimal cost increase. I have been contemplating writing Thomas about it but I'm leery of drawing too much attention from them. In my past dealings with them and from what I've read, they aren't too keen on being told there is something that needs fixing on their product... We shall see I guess. I haven't made up my mind on it yet.
I'm sure they are looking, probebly glued to your site to see what you come up with next...
Look cool fella. Nice work
Thats awesome work. Very clean. I love how the new board is a drop-in replacement..slick!
The drop in board from Basher Boards has arrived. So well packed, I swear even An Post couldn't break it during delivery. Full instructions so even a numpty like me will have no trouble installing it. Although it is only a simple circuit board it has an air of quality, neat and well made. Though my pedals are still relatively new the signal is just starting to show signs of that jitter, not enough to feel yet, but this will nip it in the bud.
If you are a CSR user just order one, don't think twice. For the price of a couple of pints of beer it will ensure your pedals will give you trouble free performance. If like me you install before you have problems, you are ensuring a race never gets ruined by a dirty signal from your pedals, and as we say here...It's better to be looking at it, than looking for it!
Well the board is installed and of course working great, took less than five minuets to do and now a perfectly clean signal coming from the pedals. Nice job Bash, so simple it's beautiful :-)
Pretty cool how it just drops in there huh? :) I love it when a plan comes together :p
Thanks for the update. I just got another order today. I'm out of town for a week in San Diego so lets hope I have lots of work to do when I get home :D
So far I've sold 34 pedal filters total. It'd probably be more if I hadn't run out so quickly initially... I won't be running out for awhile though now.
