New guy looking to play on a team or group for fun!
Hey everyone!
My apologies if I am posting in the wrong area.
I am surprised by how much activity is on this site.. bit overwhelming when trying to work your way though it!
I have played Halo4 by my lonesome and I think it would be more enjoyable in a group setting.
Wondering if anyone wants to tag up to play ... particularly using headsets.
I think this would add a new dimension to the game!
Also would like to learn or share what I have learned.. im almost at the 130 rating!
Please let me know or message me on Xbox and we can hook up to play there!
Thanks and happy slayer ;)
Hey, welcome. Yeah, there are a lot of folks playing Halo, although not as many taking it as seriously as before, which is weak as hell.
In any case, yeah, lots of folks.
Let's change that. I'll assist any way I can.
You on any of the Friends of Friends lists?
BlueFoxRidge,
Welcome to the 202P Halo forums, FR sent .
Headsets and team communication is the only way to roll into battle. Look for others from the A 2o2pOver40 GT and Thursday Night is community Halo night where DEEP NNN runs Fun Custom games from 9pm to 11pm EST.
A couple questions for you;
Have you been running thru MM by yourself and randoms?
What time zone are you in and what times/days do you play Halo?
Welcome BlueFoxRidge!
I can tell you first hand, you will enjoy Halo MUCH more when playing with people from 2o2p! - Much more!
As mentioned above, the FoF tags, and Thursday open-site nite are good ways to get to meet players.
Teabag ya later...
What everyone else said :) Send a FR to the tags listed in the stickies topic"Friends of Friends". Use those tags to send/receive invites from people. If you can, jump in on the Thursday night fun. It gives you a chance to meet people and see who you have fun playing with. Most people from the site use headsets as far as I know. Some people don't talk much though ;)
once you're friends with a few of us, you'll end up adding ten more!
Oh and the site has a couple of Halo clans if you want a guaranteed group of Halo players to run with.
Dixon...your post made me sad :(
You're telling me. We used to have custom games up and running literally any time you turned on your Xbox. Now, I check Xbox.com and if I don't see folks, I don't bother turning it on. It really sucks.
Hey Everyone! Thanks for the great responses!
To answer the questions:
A couple questions for you;
Have you been running thru MM by yourself and randoms? I usually play by myself
What time zone are you in and what times/days do you play Halo? I am the same time zone as NY and I play whenever I can usually in the evenings but sneak on during the day when I am bored or between things.
I will be sure to drop by Thursday and look forward to it!
Also.. Just so I understand this.. do I just do FR requests to the people on that FR thread or ask permission first?
Ah, Eastern time zone.
Send a friend request to the Friends of Friends Gamertags that are stickied at the top of this forum. Send game invites out through that, by selecting that Gamertag from your friends list, hitting over, and selecting "View Friends". Then you'll see who is a friend of that gamertag, if they're online, and what they're playing. Send invites out that way.
You're probably asking why we do that, instead of sending Friend Requests. You're certainly welcome to, but that way, those folks that have Friends Lists that are perpetually filled can mash more people, indirectly, through that method.
I am on A1Halo2o2p
Not to be the thread jacker extraordinaire:
"Oh and the site has a couple of Halo clans if you want a guaranteed group of Halo players to run with. " quote Kit
Ive met some really great people here who I've been playing with but they have so many friends we end up playing BTB or customs.
Which once a week for a change is cool but I strongly prefer 4v4 or even some 6v6 objective, do most of the clans run BTB and customs most of the time too?
@ Dixon I just posted almost exactly what you said in another thread, without reading this one first. 1. That's creepy! My stalking of you has been taken to new levels! I'm in your head dude! 2. It's sad. I never turn my Xbox on right away, even on clan nights, til I see people are on through Xbox.com. 3. I wonder if we are all doing that, and therefore none of us are getting online? Lol!
@ Sparty there are several people on the site and in clans who prefer 4 v 4 game types. You can set your party at 4 or 6 if you want, and keep it small. Ie Medic prefers snipers. Even on clan nights, you'll probably find him there. The more "competitive" people prefer smaller game types. I think Wam prefers SWAT. I prefer 4 v 4, but don't like to see people out there alone, so I often end up in big team. On our clan nights (2o2pHalo clan) we often have multiple groups playing: some in customs, some in MM, in small parties. You're not alone! You just have to find like minded individuals :)
Maybe we need something similar to hupit gaming for this site where we can synch up playing styles and availability instead of relying on sending out invites and eventually teaming up with like minded individuals. Like you guys are already saying, maybe too many are logging in not seeing either the volume they expect or the gaming style they prefer and are logging out, or maybe too many are joining that BTB because playing BTB with their friends is better than not playing at all, even though they'd prefer to play something else. I realize it's as simple as what blue has done "I want to play 4v4 objective on Monday nights need 3 more people" and really it is that simple, but maybe there's something more we can do to get the community motivated. I don't know I mean we already have the thursday nights and that tournament (is it still going on?) it's not like we're not trying to motivate. And yes I'm aware I'm rambling so I'll stop. haha
That could be good. Also maybe in the FOF tag put more detail like this:
I play most nights 8:30 to 11, average player but likes to win
Turn ons: 4v4, SWAT, some objective, and long jetpacks on the beach
Turn offs: Active camo, boltshots, douches who attack their own team because you got to the mech or weapon first
To help you pick friends who make the most sense.
I play often and am willing to play with anyone regardless of skill level.
And I in turn have no competitive heart nor skill but am still tolerated by the above
I never used a mic until I came here and it IS a whole new game, and more fun!
Welcome.
Yes, a combination of things you guys have said is what's coming to my mind.
Picture this - a thread called "Players looking for teams looking for Players" or something similar.
The very top post will get edited based on the comments below it. So the very first post would look something like this:
Then people post in the comments when they want to join, unjoin, create new, etc. Kind of primitive but might be a good idea to get it going...
The only problem I see with that is getting 4 people who can commit to certain nights. I was on a team for a while and after a couple of months, we all had real life stuff (okay I'll admit it: mine was a tv show lol) get in the way on Thursday nights. We tried to find another night, and it just didn't work.
P.S. I miss you guys. RIP Teabags n Taco.
Well I guess in that scenario the team either disolves if it's the majority or the team replaces the weakest link, even if temporarily until the television series is over :)
I LOVE Archer! Pam is my favorite - she's so rude and crude...lol
BlueFoxRidge,
Thanks for the game yesterday, had a blast!
Highway! Thanks to you and the people you introduced me too yesterday!
Wow you people were right.. it is more fun with headsets and mics.... now if I can only do something regarding my humiliating score on these new variants of wargames.. LOL
Tonight's the sitewide Halo thingy, so there's always that chance to mingle.
I'll be around after getting out of the gym. Hopefully all the quirky, race-y, hog mania-y games will be long over by then.
