Since Halo 4 came out I have been spending time on the campaign, first to go thru the missions on Legendary, then to take it further and do the missions at the hardest levels possible: Mythic difficulty or Solo, Legendary, All Skulls on (SLASO) with no deaths or save and quits. That means turning all 13 skulls on and doing a mission start to finish without dying. Proof of that for each mission is in the waypoint stats and backed up by a film of the gameplay.
I had done Mythic missions in the previous Halo games but never all the missions in one game, until yesterday when I finished Midnight. The stats and films for each mission are below:
Holy crap! Look at those times
Wow, congrats Achy!
wow. I thought you couldn't record campaign gameplay in H4?
I have an external video capture card (Hauppauge PVR 2) that lets me record in HD. Without campaign theatre, to get those films required recording live game play. In the past one could go to the theater, upload the film to file share, and request that one of the Mythic "Masters" download and verify the run. Bungie coupled the film with the stats. In one of my Reach runs I was just practicing and actually got thru the mission without dying so I submitted that.
Recording live game play is quite frankly a pain in the arse. One has to basically record all campaign runs and if there is a fail, stop, reset the mission to the start and stop and restart recording. Advantage is that the film can be uploaded to youtube without paying anyone for rendering minutes.
I looked at the first film and laughed when you sprinted around the corner to assasinate that Elite and his back wasn't turned to you. Run away! LOL
When you are not supposed to die, the general rule of thumb to "run away to live another day" definitely applies.
Watch the beginning of Composer and you will see me turn around and run a lot of times LOL. Took me 16 minutes to kill those first 4 Elites in my official Mythic run. Went back in to do a walkthru of the beginning and it took me only 5 minutes...sigh. For grins and because I saw someone else do it, I may go back in and try to get all 4 right after they jump out of the Phantom. That would be a hoot.
Nicely done. I did a few SLASO in Reach for some of the challenges, but wow they are such a huge PITA that I said I'd never to them again.
My hat's off to you for sticking with it and doing something very few people will ever accomplish.
I posted about this on HBO. :)

You are my hero Achy.
'\WoW congrats !!! I never thought is was really possible awesome work Achy.
do you tape a reticle on your TV? I can't imagine trying to aim with nothing there, not even your hands.
Damn! Busted. Yes. I use a piece of clear tape. Went into a custom game; used a DMR loadout; pointed the DMR at a greyish surface; put the tape on the screen with the middle area over the reticule; and inked in the middle of the reticule with a black Sharpee. That is actually better than the regular reticule on Promethian weapons, scoped or not. I have a 24 inch HD TV dedicated to my XBOX so the tape is up there full time. Some people use cross hair tape that you can buy, but this method works very well.
Awesome.
Thanks Old N' Achy! And mad props too.
I've got a few top 100 in the world type things in some games as well and they all tend to fall into this type of category- single player-methodical-practice-makes-perfect type things. I'll still never acheive anything like this in an FPS though.
It's a pleasure to read about someone else having fun with Halo 4 in this forum.
Promised a clip in the One Man's Opinion thread and here it is. The Mythic community is always trying to come up with better tactics in their campaign runs and the video below demonstrates one such tactic first pointed out by a fellow named Roach. In the beginning of the Composer mission, one has to deal with 4 Elites in the Landing Bay area and Roach found a way -- as demonstrated below -- to take out the first 2 with one grenade throw. Recommend viewing at highest resolution and full screen. Enjoy:

LOL. And with one of us hiding!!
Congratulations, Achy! For myself, I plan to finish plain vanilla Legendary sometime before Halo 6 comes out ...
If you need any help or want someone to run co-op with you, let me know.
I decided to go back into the Composer mission and try to do a clean Mythic run (LASO, no deaths) using the newer techniques and tactics (ref. the film clip a couple of posts ago). Definitely not a speed run but I cut my run time in half, a major improvement. The film below has some subtitles documenting the various Mythic "techniques," Enjoy:
