I think you guys will really enjoy the game. I have been testing the weekly builds since early 2012 and the game has come a long way since then. It is running very nicely on my PC with triple screens, with amazing graphics and sound and improving AI. The track and car selection are very nice.
Zero how is the sence of speed compared to AC? I find AC visualy doesn't feel fast, physics wise and looking at lap times it does though.
I can definitely tell the difference between driving a Ford Focus road car and a Formula 1 car. Lets just put it that way. The biggest issue is frame rates, if you are using a lower end PC, you will have to turn down the eye candy in order to minimize drops in FPS. That won't be an issue on the consoles.
Not quite what I ment, it's difficult to explain but AC just feels slower compared to say Forza/GT making it very easy to overshoot turns. It could be the FOV wich is locked at 54 deg on a triple monitor. AC runs around 50 FPS in trafic up to 100+ solo, so my 'puter is not a problem.
OK, I see what you mean. I do not have any issues with overshooting turns because I am not correctly detecting the sense of speed of the car. Rather, my problem is locking up the brakes on certain cars. For example, I tried the McClaren F1 yesterday and I simply could not avoid locking up the brakes.
Assetto Corsa's physics are very different than Project CARS' physics. Project CARS feels closer to standard sims, such as Gran Turismo 6 and Forza 5. They are realistic enough that it is easy to spin the car, but not so bad that you simply cannot use a controller. Remember, with Project CARS, there will be lots of console players, whereas Assetto Corsa is PC only.
SMS cited two reasons for the delay. First, they want to get out of the crowded holiday release schedule, which they believe would have negatively impacted sales. Second, they acknowledge that the game lacks the polish and bug fixes that it would need to be released next month.
I personally am not surprised. Although the game is looking and feeling great, I continue to have crashes and lock ups, even with the newer builds. They clearly have a substantial amount of work left to get the title ready for release.
Ill be getting on the XBone in march !!! can't wait for it, do need to upgrade the Memory in the old girl as used most of it and i imagine this being a big install
Zero, after stuffing a second GTX 780 in my rig I've caputred 2 vids showing what I ment with the sence of speed. Vid 1, tripple screen redering and app setup according to the correct messurements. Vid 2, single screen rendering and playing with the driver pos and FOV to get a position as close as possible to the tripple screen. The world outside the car seems "longer" in the second vid giving a much greater sence of speed.
Keep in mind that all the HUD info is on the edge of my center screen and when I'mm looking sraight ahead the outside edges of my side screens are just at/outside my periphirial vision.
FM5 was bit of a disappointment for me, is this worth the money?? It sure looks great on vid...Should I just pre-order the damn game??
I downloaded another build over the weekend and tried it out. They appear to be close to going gold, as the game ran flawlessly on my rig. I think you are safe pre-ordering it. It will be awesome.
This game is developped under the game engine of Need for speed Shift and this was a really bad game they called simulation but it feel more like driving a Cadilac escalade in GTA 4 lol i mean soft suspension enormous bodyroll like if a ford focus was an suv
Slightly mad studios devlopped Need For speed shift 1&2 both were bad. They also published Test drive ferrari and this is the worst game i ever tried on xbox 360
The part "simulation car racing" ... was published few years ago for Need For Speed Shift ... and they also compare it to be better then forza 3 or 4 in simulation
For sure i will not buy this game ... i will wait few week to see if the game evaluation goes down 2-3 week after the release. this hapenned with need for speed shift series
Anyway someone can explain this:
They work for EA games nfs shift and nfs shift 2 and now they work for Namco ...
Anybody here already play a namco racing game? Ridge Racer Mario Kart
i dont like much forza 5
i dont try to convince you this game will be really bad but im pretty sure many of you will be disapointed like we all did about forza 5
p.s. if you guys think i play only forza game .... if forza 6 is not even good as forza 4 im out im buying a ps4 and wait for gt7
I assume your not part of the beta and haven't tried the game yet?
Your comment about it being built on the shift series engine is somewhat misleading and incorrect the engine is the madness engine which is completely modular which allows it to be rewritten, as of now there is absolutely no code left over from the shift series. There was through out the developement place holders used from shift till new code was created.
There was an article released a month ago regarding this subject I'll try to find.
The underlying engine is actually built apon isi gmotor engine which powers many popular pc Sims.
I was a huge forza fan, but asides from flashy graphics the two can't even be compared to one another.
Forza is mainly a production car driving game with minimal race features And unrealistic tuning features. Hopefully fm6 will return to its routes and build upon what was good in Fm3
Pcars focus is to emulate an actual racing experience with many advanced features and sim like options that haven't been implemented in any other console racing game to date.
Will it be a hardcore sim......no, because hardcore Sims don't produce big $$$$ but it will have sim features with a more advanced tire and suspension model than fm5 or gt6 have ever produced.
also factor in dynamic weather and track surface will make longer races more exciting :)
At the end of the day it's up to the user to decide what type of racing game they enjoy, and personally all hope all the upcoming titles are great.......the more for me to enjoy!
Edit: they don't work for namco nor do they any thing to do with the development. They are simply the distributor. Sms developed this soley on there own with 70% of the projects funds coming from the community. C.A.R.S community assisted race simulation
in fact i think all the game we actually play i mean forza and gran turismo. They need a competitor that came with better feature.
the reason is if the best 2 game in the genre well for us in our opinion got a new competitor coming with better feature the actual turn 10 and polyphony will have to step their game up and try to convice us they can make it better.
yeah i understand they probably change lot of stuff from the nfs shift engine it's like unreal engine been use for many years but the games doesn't have the same physic i agree with you.
The bad part is they made shift & shift 2 and test drive ferrari challenge ... as reputation for me it's really a bad starting point because i didn't like these game and the worst in that was all the publicity around these game suposed to be better then forza and gran turismo
for me it's the same story coming back when they published the first Shift
i dont want to downgrade that game without trying it ... it is unfair but i've play so many game in the last decade and many of them were really not what they promised
Getting excited about this game..I preorderd for the Xbox but have JUST upgraded my pc and thinking I might try it out on it...Ive messed a little with Iracing but never been on any other kind of PC game.....so I dont know what I might do
I believe November 10 th
11/30/14 according to Gamestop. I love Forza but, man I can't wait to finally race Le Mans at night in the rain!
This
We've had that in GT6, although it can be overrated/frustrating!

Looks like we're going to have to wait until March 20, 2015.
