The whole shifter arrangement came with the rig, an upright bar from the frame with the adaptor plates for the fanatec shifter. No clever DIY on my part, one look ay my makeshift monitor stands should tell you clever DIY is not my thing LOL. But when it comes to bodging something together with whatever I can find around the the house...I'm your man. In that setup there is a conga, a shelf from an old synth rack, a briefcase, the top of a cat tree, a computer tool kit case, three empty game disc cases, a cardboard box, two bungee cords and half a reel of duct tape
I'm sorry to sound like a broken record, but how in the world does the shifter itself secure to that mount? Is it screwed into place? Held on by bungie cords? Zip ties? I can't tell from the pictures....
After much hard work and quite a lot of money I finally have the perfect driving rig set up. The wheel mount was very hard to find (stuck in the corner of the shed) then I had to find the perfect racing seat to match the racing mounts height and was fully adjustable(it moves forwards and back) as an added bonus the seat can be used to eat at the table. To stabilise the racing mount I added specially designed weights that are fixed to the bottom of the mount(bottled water and tins of baked beans taped to the bottom of the table). I added the large 60" Flat screen with full 7.1 surround sound (19" TV with Headphones). As you can see no expense was spared.
And, here is my set up for PS3 (GT5) and PC, including triple screens, Thrustmaster T500RS wheel (GT and F1 rims), Clubsport pedals, Thrustmaster THR8S sequential shifter, Rennsport wheel stand and Playseat:
I always get my cats fixed... and its a female so I have no issues with spraying. All she does is sleep on my chair and the spear bed anyway lol wont even get up on my desk... perfect cat is there were one.
I was looking at the cockpit view on forza and I figure the size of the wheel using an rx8 on my 42" tv is roughly 350mm when measured right on the screen. Pretty close to accurate compaired to my rx8 wheel which is about 360mm. most sim wheels are 300mm yes? so with the wheel sitting 100-120cm back it should be close to actual size... I hope lol im sure it will be pretty sweet anyway.
haha I guess so... thats our recent addition for a trotal of 2. I was fine with only one but for all the money I spent on the rig the woman needed something too and she been buggin me about another cat for over a year. Now I have my setup and she has her kitten lol.
The shifter mount came with adaptor plates to mount the fanatec shifter...nice and easy
Seriously? Is that the regular CSR shifter or the clubsport shifter? I'm pretty confident my CSR shifter didn't include any additional hardware. :/
Regular CSR, the mounting brackets came with the rig...or rather were an add on to the rig that I ordered.
Look at the fecking size of that 72inch.. Fooking hell.
Gimme!

That's impressive.
Knight, how does the shifter mount to the stand? I'm trying to figure out how it secures in place.
Awesome setup there rusty
@Knight. Tell the man!!

The riser from the rig frame ends in a flat plate, the fanatec adaptor plates are bolted to that and the rest should now be self explanatory.
Im going to start on my DIY rig over the next week or so... Will be buying most of the supplies tomorrow technically today as its 4am.

Fitzy, that leather seating surface looks quite comfortable. I am still waiting for car manufacturers to start offering Wing Back Chairs as an option.
Here is my set up for Forza 4, including triple screens, CSR Elite wheel, Clubsport pedals, CSR H shifter, wheelstandpro and Playseat.

My current setup... Rig, CSR wheel/shifter set, and CSPv2's will be here monday.
Nice cat. Have they sprayed your set-up yet?
I always get my cats fixed... and its a female so I have no issues with spraying. All she does is sleep on my chair and the spear bed anyway lol wont even get up on my desk... perfect cat is there were one.
Snappy, if you only have female cats, you might avoid that nastiness...
I have to swing the tv out of the way and lift the wheel to get in.
Second-row seat from a Honda Odyssey, Xlerator Wheel Stand, Panasonic 32".
Love the desing mate. That's gotta be well immersive.
Nice setup lads
/\ that tv looks bigger than 32" lol
I was looking at the cockpit view on forza and I figure the size of the wheel using an rx8 on my 42" tv is roughly 350mm when measured right on the screen. Pretty close to accurate compaired to my rx8 wheel which is about 360mm. most sim wheels are 300mm yes? so with the wheel sitting 100-120cm back it should be close to actual size... I hope lol im sure it will be pretty sweet anyway.
So the new setup is complete... a few kinks to iron out but overall I'm pretty happy with it and I'm pretty proud of myself for building it.
LG 42" 1080p TV, Fanatec CSR Weel, ClubSport V2 Pedal set, and the home made PVC rig using Simul8r's design.
The PC next to it wont play modern sims... yet! 160 but is using a HP 23" screen.
Audio is a choice of TurtleBeach X4 / PX5 surround sound headphones or a Logitec 5.1 system.
P.S. yes that is 2O4F on the monitor.
Very well done.
Do I need a cat to be part of this club?
haha I guess so... thats our recent addition for a trotal of 2. I was fine with only one but for all the money I spent on the rig the woman needed something too and she been buggin me about another cat for over a year. Now I have my setup and she has her kitten lol.
I'm almost certain that the original club synopsis mandated cat ownership...
I dont have a cat. Maybe thats whats wrong with me lol.
Awesome setup Mac
