JIP doesn't bother me. I've been thrown into alot of games, most I've had a good fighting chance to win. BTB needs JIP the most because people quit a lot in that playlist.
Still my biggest gripe is the DMR. It kills map movement and has close to the range of a sniper. It dominates at almost every range and makes the BR worthless I get 5 shots on enemies way to much and I don't feel it takes very much skill. The sensitivity and the auto aim seem to be to very forgiving for the DMR.
A close second is random weapon spawns. This doesn't work. Hate it.
The boltshot is starting to get very annoying. I rarely saw it in the first 10 days, but now its everywhere and it works great when you get the timing down.
Plasma grenades and plasma pistols are killing vehicle gameplay. 343 did a good job with vehicles, but now everyone has a vehicles defense class to easily kill them.
I also can't believe how bad they f'ed up forge. Forge options should of been cut and paste. Sure we wanted the forge maps to look more interesting and we wanted the framerate fix which they have done, but everything else worked. I'm sure they will get it together i just miss my Hog Mania and speed flag.
One huge complaint I have is there are far too many one shot kill weapons. In Halo 3 there were the two snipers, rockets, laser, and shotty from close range. Sword and hammer close range. I don't think they used the fuel rod cannon much in matchmaking - maybe on Sand Trap. They've kept all those and added the Incineration cannon, bolt shot, binary rifle, rail gun, sticky detonator, scattershot close range. Pretty much every other weapon is a one shot kill weapon. This makes BR shootouts pretty much endangered. If you want that all you can do is play Slayer Pro.
I'm just sick of trying to play classic Halo 1v1 and getting one shot across the map from someone not even involved in the fight.
There should be many ways to kill vehicles. Keep in mind, though, that when a lot of folks have worked through Operator and what not, there'll be a lot more buffed up vehicles out there. The actual gameplay balance still hasn't been established yet because of all the specializations.
I think the BR needs a slight improvement. Maybe an increase in firing rate or something. The Boltshot is pretty annoying. Everyone has a mini-shotgun, and that makes movement interesting.
Again, these are almost all things we pegged before the game was even released. Nothing is new here.

I assumed that they would of taken care of these things with their beta testing. I didn't expect this many issues.
I agree, the ordinance drops break the game. There is no way to anticipate anything.
I think this is untrue. Ordinance drops are every 2 minutes. And while they claim to be randomized, the locations are pretty consistent. For example, rockets on Abandon will always show up at the bottom middle tower (close to where the initial scattershot is). I've never seen them appear anywhere else. Same with the incenerator cannon on Solace (not the initial, the dropped one, which appears top mid). I believe the only random piece is whether or not it will show up at a given drop.
Someone correct me if they've seen something else.
As for other lag and JIP, they are broken when:
-You play a 5v5 game and half way through it splits the room into a 4v1 and a 1v4 rooms.
-You have a team of 4 and JIP splits your 4 and puts 3 on 1 team and 1 on the other
-The other team has all quit simultaneously and instead of ending the game, the game JIP's 4 new people who have to start by being down
-The game lags you out of the game your in and suddenly JIP's you into another one, and then automatically puts you back in your original party when you are done.
All of these have happened to me in the past week.
anyone notice that when you jump to avoid a ghost splatter, half the time even if you think you time it right, if it hits even your foot you are splattered. In the past, it just knocked down your shields. Of course when I try to splatter and hit people dead on, it just bounces them away or I've even had people jack me while I'm boosting dead into them.
I consistently get splattered in the foot, meanwhile I've managed to ram into someone at full speed and push them across the map. The guy had time to swap to his plasma pistol and emp me while I'm ramming him and hijack me.
Maybe I'm just crazy, but I'd love to see a playlist without all the new H4 stuff. All the game modes but no personal ordinance or pocket shotguns or loss in progress or any of that crap. I think that would be quite fun to play.
Is it just me, or does it seem like there is a much more pronounced host/connection issue than in Reach and H3? I get people eat a face full of AR and won't die, or I will get 3 shot. That always happened occasionally before, but it seems like its a lot more often.

it seems the connection isn't as good as REACH but better than H3 for me.
The world must be ending if I'm agreeing with Wamamamamamamam.
I think it's been pairing us up with whomever, and not really with folks that make geographical sense to pair us up with for the best connection. I think that's been the source for a lot of weird connections, but I've got no way to prove that.

So you are agreeing?
Not necessarily. We got to pick out connection filters before, and they aren't apparent now. I'm certainly noticing a lot more European accents than I used to hear.
Since we were talking about drops here - FYI the Engineer perk, Drop Recon, kicks ass for infinity slayer. I'd say it gives you 10-15 seconds of notice of exactly what and where the next power weapon drop will be. You can sprint over and have the weapon literally drop in front of you. Last night is the first time I've really used it, but I got Rockets and Rail Gun a lot. Would be really helpful in BTB to have one person with this to call out drops to teammates.
I watched the entire video, and sadly, its hard to disagree with them on most of the points they bring up. Its obvious though that they are still enjoying the game(well except lemon who I dont think could be made happy unless you let him design the game himself) Personally, I like Halo 4 a lot and as long as I've got my 2o2pHalo peeps to game with, I'lll play the hell out of this game.( until H5 comes out). Obviously 343 made some mistakes, did anyone expect them not to? And yes this game should have had a beta but it didnt so people should just get over it. I dont mind them trying new things and taking risks, as a matter of fact I welcome it. I hope they do it again for H5. As long as I 343 keeps putting forth an effort to correct things, fix mistakes, and support the community then I'll be happy.

This is precisely what makes it so frustrating. Again, like they said, at its core, this is a very good game. There's something worthwhile here. However, there are just so many little issues and things that were done and solved that have popped up again, that shows a lack of polish, I suppose.
I think that, as far as big gameplay issues are concerned, 343 really didn't make any, and any issues that are there will be smooothed out once we get a proper competitive playlist and ranking system in place.
I just finished too. I think they are right about many things, but going on tirades on certain things shows they like to bitch for the sake of bitching. Honestly, they made a 90 minute show out of a discussion topic worth 15-30 minutes. It boils down to:
1. The lobby system sucks. And it's buggy. I don't think anyone will argue this.
2. JIP is poorly implemented and needs fixed. I'd agree here.
3. Custom game options aren't all there. You can't disable sprint. You can't disable instant respawn. Other stuff. I agree that this should be in there.
4. Forge is borked. I don't forge very much, but listening to the guys that do, there are some issues. My opinion, I don't know why they gave it to Certain Affinity. I've not seen anything come from them that I've thought was good. Even the forge preview videos I thought were terrible.
5. There is no reason to move in a game. The reward is higher by hunkering down in a position and never moving. Your power weapons now come to you.
Some of their ideas are not well thought out though. In BTB, if you spawn trap the other team in their base, they should just continue to spawn there and take a beating because the suck? JIP was added because BTB becomes 8v1 and the 8 don't like chasing 1 person the whole game. So, what you want is to be able to spawn trap someone in their base, and if they quit, bring in some other poor sap to continue to take a beating so you won't get bored. Wow.
I'm not sure how you can put Lemon into a show like this and think a developer is going to listen. It's clear he thinks that he is the only one who knows how to make a proper game. Since he doesn't have the personal tools to make a game, he wants a developer to design it for him and give him options to set everything so he can get it right. It's funny, because they actually say at one point that 343 is arrogant enough to make people play 343's version of halo, when really, that's all he wants to do too. He just doesn't have the money or knowledge to make that happen.
I hope they can fix some things, because I agree with them as well that this is probably the best halo game since CE (they said H2, but I think CE was the best).
You can spawn trap in H4, you just have to be a little more mindful of your position. If you push too far, the spawns will swap. JIP is borked beyond belief. On paper, it sounds great. In reality, it's terrible. I see it as Arena in Reach. 343 either needs to remove it, add an option to disable it, or make it so you can only join friends' games. Yes, it sucks in btb when you are on a team of 8 and nearly everyone on the other team quits. However, 343 needs to realize the majority of people who quit do so because their team is getting trounced. It's not that their connection dropped, they had to leave suddenly, or the wife demanded instant sex, it's because they are losing, badly. Who wants to be thrown into such a game? You're still going to get spawn killed and while occasionally you can make a comeback, it rarely happens, no matter how good you are. And don't forget the team splitting if you're in a party that happens to JIP.
Forgot to mention that if it is 8v1, the 1 can quit since there is no penalty for quitting in H4 (or that I've heard of). At most it will go down as a DNF and a loss, and with it being 8v1, you were going to lose anyway. JIP is not needed.

They should of just put in a way to forfeit a game instead of JIP.
I also think the should of put in a half time for CTF and maybe even the other gametypes as well. Some of the CTF maps are to lopsided.
You're notice more poor connections because they're matchmaking you with people with similar skill and not considering connection quality unlike previous halo games that did the opposite. Wish they gave people the ability to choose for themselves. The fact that I had time to do my bills in between matches is not a good thing.

I agree with Adam Levine that the MM menus for Reach was ten times better.

So, we'll be seeing a large population for the MLG playlist any time now.
