Tried Forza 5 again.....
In anticipation of the fact that Forza may be in my future, again, I fired up the xbone and tried FM5 again. You know what...?
I liked it!
After a little bit of fiddling with the wheel set up and tweaking the FFB I ended up playing for nearly 3 hours. I drove quite a few cars on several tracks. Classic GP cars, modified street cars, and a modern GT3. It was really fun. I think my initial impressions of FM5 might have been a little harsh. I think I was clouded by the old PC sim racing bug. If anything, PC sim racing is a lot of work and most sims have issues with functionality. Anyway, just wanted to say that I enjoyed it.
If any events come up in the right time slot I'll probably jump in. I just don't have headphones so I won't be able to chat.
Did you upgrade my TX firmware to the latest version? I did the upgrade and I noticed that the FFB in Forza 5 is much stronger and better.
Forza 5 still has plenty of life, at least for me. I have now purchased all of the cars available in the game, but I am still working on getting gold in each and every event in the career mode. I also had forgotten how much fun it was to drive the diverse selection of cars in the game. The F1 cars drive better than they do in the Codemaster F1 games. LOL! The Indy cars are also a blast. Although Forza Horizon 2 is newer, Forza 5 seems to catch my interest more these days.
Forza 6 cannot come soon enough, but in the meantime, there is plenty of Forza goodness out there for us to enjoy.
I still pushing through FH2 for tier points in the rewards program, and admittedly having fun doing it for the most part.
I also have to agree with Zero on everything BUT the Indy cars. I hate 'em with a passion. Then again, I expect them to be able to run anywhere and when you stray off the ovals they're really dicey.
