I need it too...Had the Elite Wheel for some time and couldn't use my Turtle Beach Headset (XP500'S) and that made me
!!! Had the Microsoft Bluetooth Headset and that didn't cut it!!...Waiting for Basher's Creation to show up and hopefully will carry me over and become a back-up!
I got the same email Wheels. I have been waiting forever for this headset and now that it might be finally almost here, I'm just not that excited. I have been racing more on PC lately which doesn't require the wheel for communication. If you get the headset, please let me know what you think, I might still get it.
Yeah...it's getting late in the day for investing in more tech purely for xbox, and to be honest it is pig ugly too. If it worked on PC as well I might have been tempted but xbox only? no thanks.

You are Dead Right!!...Buttttttt that is the way it is with games...I love Forza but disgusted with it and Microsoft for not "Manning" up and addressing some key issues. Wishful thinking but would love to see another player in simulation whose game won't cost you a arm and leg and a couple fingers! That would suit me Fanatastic because I have a long memory when someone sticks it to my ass and wallet!!
P.S. Fortunate for me I have two wheels...Elite works Outstanding with PS3's GT5...GT-2 works Outstanding with Forza! Problem is I run better times with the Elite Wheel with Forza but cannot communicate with anyone!
This is not entirely correct. Because it has an optical connection, you can use this headset on the PC or PS3 for game sound. But, it appears that you cannot use this headset on the PC or PS3 for game chat. The game chat function appears to be limited to Xbox 360 only. WTF? Turtle Beach's top of the line headsets, the XP 500 and PX5, will work with all three platforms, for both game sound (via optical) and chat (via Bluetooth for PC and PS3 and via chat cable for Xbox 360). The only problem is that the PX5 will not do game chat with the Fanatec CSR Elite wheel.
I am sorry, but game chat on the Xbox 360 with my CSR Elite wheel is not enough justification for me to drop $300 on this headset. I will stick with my PX5 headset, despite the limitation.
The thing that bugs me is...The Xbox is a PC, it's a PC made by Microsoft, the same company that produces the software most of us have on our desktops, kit should be interchangeable...well, like the CSR. The more expensive it is the more the need for it to work on both platforms. As an aside the rumor mill is suggesting the 720 will have upgrade hardware options like a PC, not sure about that at all.
Do the guys on the PC games run races with full damage on? Is there even an option to turn it off in rF1 or 2? Just curious...

rFactor has the ability to be full arcade or full sim. All the same assists are there with the ability to set them at different levels. Damage can be set from no damage to 100% damage. Flags can be turned off or on, you can turn auto pits on or require everyone to drive into and out of the pits and maintain the pit speed limit.
The V8 Supercar races at GBR allow most assists and have damage set to 50%. I am running a race tonight at Race2Play with rFactor that allows no assists and has 100% damage. I will be happy if I just finish that one.
Yeah, damage is on, it can be turned off and is on the practice servers. Same with assits, I think the lowest level is allowed in races.
Not much good to me without chat, I'll pick up a cheap MS wireless for the box, found one reduced to €25 but the sodding sites order page is off line.
This headset is one UGLY transformers/micheal bay looking turd... lol they also look quite uncomfortable. I understand the need for Fanatec owners to have a true wireless headset but I think I am going to go the modded MS headset route and continue to use my TB PX5s. If I were to switch to any other headset it would be the Astro A50s.
