it has more rotation off throttle, but you have to be better on the brakes. Requires a bit of smoothness to enter turns, power own should be the same. The combination is that you can turn in a bit later to get the apex, thus coming in sharper and getting on the power earlier.
I rode the VAG hard again tonight for another 15 laps and shaved another .4s. Made it to my goal of 1:36s at 1:36.879. How do you say it? "...I'm feeling rather chuffed with myself"
Seriously, I think I have a few more .1s laying on the asphalt of Laguna Seca that I plan to find this weekend.
I thought I'd give the Porsche 550 a go. Trying a few builds. Not too bad. I'm sure if someone who could actually tune would give it a go I might be able put in a mid 1:20.
Once I'm happier with what I'm running i'd be happy to share. T's elan will be much faster though!
Ran a final 10 lap stint at Laguna and set a 1:36.659. Not sure if I've got sixth tenths in me even if I use the auto clutch feature on the Fanatec. Good stuff. Bring on the Lotus and Sedona.
Okay, TAC 1 is done. Surf you can continue if you wish - Send me your time at the end of the week and i'll add it.
Now since we've all hammered the VAG on TAC 1, lets move onto a new Vag.. :) Some really good close times in there guys, certianly good to see you drop some of those down by over a second during the course of the week.
The next track is going to be a good one to get used to. You'll learn alot about transitioning the car at speed, also braking into a turn to get the maximum exit speed.
See you at sedona! Track selection to be confirmed next saturday. :)
