Vault of Glass
To no ones suprise there are a number of videos on youtube and twitch showing vault runs. To those of you that are playing and actually enjoying the game. Will you peek? Not this guardian, in fact my ideal raid run would be with five other virgins all under the same self imposed info ban. I am a level 23 warlock, have yet to play Destiny with any members of the clan maybe that will change tonight will be on 7 pm est till at least 11. Xboxone
Researching the mechanics of a raid encounter is a good way to avoid punching your TV/Monitor.
While that does sound efficent. I was thinking more in terms of shock and awe.
I peeked, not shure it will help me. Does spoil the shock and awe of the fights I have seen.
then again, 7 hrs on one boss.......or look it up and spend 3 hrs pulling it off?
i like what i see...very hard shit!
Meh. It's 1 minute of "Oh shit, check this guy out!" followed by 2 hours of "Damn it, I didn't know he did that. One more time"
You guys should get a move on though. Nobody's finished it yet, and the first team that does gets a statue dedicated to them in the tower. Be cool if it was a 2o2p statue.
Ill go in as a virgin. One of the most fun parts is figuring these things out yourself.
So hard to even blink around forums without catching tips and sooilers.![sad sad](http://www.2old2play.com/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/sad_smile.png)
I'm not watching any videos of the raids and will try to keep my eyes off tips. By the time you get to 27, you should know how to kill the enemies in the game and survive (most of the time). A year out from now, it might be more necessary to have all the advantages of Youtube videos and detailed walkthroughs because a lot fewer people will be trying this stuff. For the next while though, it should be easier to find 5 mates.
I heard that it took the first finishers something like 11 hours and 1500 deaths to make it through the Vault of Glass. Piece of cake....
I have no idea how it took them that long, or that many deaths. Unless you're complete ass at the game you'll be at the final boss within maybe 3 or 4 hours.
Bungie just posted a tweet that the Raid has been beaten. Now there is the challenge of completing it on Hard difficulty...lol
I tried the first objective solo at lvl 25. That's not saying much though. I'd pop a praetorians head and then run for my mo' foin' life. Then the vex would capture all the sync zones. 3 or 4 OK loot chests along the way.
You really can't do anything unless you're level 27. But you can't be level 27 unless the game hands you legendary gear. So yeah, that's fun. It's entirely up to random chance when you can do the raid.
Yep, annoying as all hell.
Not true. I'm level 27. You can do it with Vanguard and Crucible being Rank 2, buying the necessary legendaries for your slots, and by buying the exotic from xur. Admittedly I lucked out on gloves but I would've bought them when I hit rank 2 with crucible anyways. Had chest/legs from Vanguard and exotic helm bought from xur. It's a time investment deal or luck, either way put your time in and you can get level 27 without any luck.
Been in the vault today, got up to the 2nd boss. VERY DIFFICULT. But there's a lot of loot to be had. Halfway through the first boss you get given stuff, I got purple boots. Then after the first boss more loot, I got a purple sniper. The next bit has you sneaking through caves where you can't get spotted. Cling to the right wall and you'll find a room with a chest, 3 of us got purple weapons and the others got ascendant shards. If you climb the cliff to the left theres a cave that leads to another chest room, 2 of us got exotic weapons. Haven't fought the final boss yet cause people had to sleep, but it's pretty cool. You WILL need to be like level 27 though. Any lower and it's just painful. But there's no way it'll take any competent player 14 hours or whatever to do it. We all went in blind except for one guy who watched the final boss fight and we got to him in about 3 hours.
We got A LOT of disconnection errors though. It was almost embarassingly bad how often that kept happening. Bee, catapillar, quail, damn near every animal made an appearance. At this point I think it's just a way for bungie to garner traffic for their site by making you go there to look at stuff.
Well, it seems like the promise of the best loot in the game is in the Raids is at least holding true. I'd be interested in hearing about your final tally of loot once you've finished the vault.
Shoot me an invite next time you see me on and need a sixth. I've been looking to get in, but I haven't found folks to attempt it yet.
Samsies
Going to be a long time before I can make an attempt at it. Only level 20 right now. Looking forward to it though.
I'm 26 half way to 27 so I'm game for a raid attempt
are raids in new areas? Or are they they same as strikes but with harder enemies?
The start of the raid is just on Venus, you can find it doing the patrol. Then that opens a door to a raid specific area.
No peeking for me, and hopefully I can fill a team with the same mindset. If you dont peek but then play with somone who knows exactly what to do, it kind of defeats the purpose.
They really need to add some kind of matchmaking for raids. It can be really tough to get a group together. I accepted an invite to one raid and am now check pointed where I joined in. Can't go back to the start to actually see what led up to that point. That needs fixed too.
I'm pretty sure I read that raid progress is tied to the party leader. So you'll be able to start a new raid from the beginning and be able to continue where you left off in the other raid
I read that too, but it's not true. I wasn't party leader and it lets me start up in the raid from where we quit and I can bring in anybody I want.
That's good to know.
Randoms can figure out splitting up and accomplishing raid goals. Figure out they may need to talk a bit to succeed. There are a lot of people in my friends list I don't play with much and plenty I haven't played with yet because they were adds for Destiny. They may not even be near high enough level to even attempt a raid.. So playing with them is similar to playing with randoms. There are plenty that hook up randomy in forums, social media, etc,, and take on raids. Matchmaking puts people together and players often become friends because of it, and play together. The frustration of trying to get into raids all weekend is quickly turning the game into a trade. The game is already stale without being able to raid. I don't desire to keep farming, playing the same strikes, Crucible for currency and ranks I have no need for without raids. Matchmaking wouldn't hurt anything. Friend from matchmaking that has friends that have friends leading to a group fully ready to go. It would also help you find available people to play with at any given time. I'm off today and i'm sure I don't have 5 friends off today to get a raid going . Would help Bungie get more of my money to be honest.
Thanks for pointing out the restart option. Never noticed it.
