On Weapon Spawns

Between the loadouts, ordinance drops and the way weapons spawn on maps, I find every weapon has a use. In the old games, half the weapons on the map were useless to me. The maps would be littered with untouched pistols, DMRs, BRs, SMGs, ARs, Spikers, Plasma Pistols and Needlers, and the only time I'd pick them up was out of desperation. I was extremely critical of loadouts and everyone seeing weapon spawns, but now I feel I owe 343 an apology. Very rarely will a weapon spawn now that I'm not interested in. They also serve another purpose- if you know the spawn location, see no teammates near it, and see it disappear from your HUD, you now know where an enemy is and (more importantly) what they are armed with.

I am liking this new weapon spawn system too. I figure it will be a year before I am absolutely sure.On the plus side, I don't have to waste Forge buget placing weapons.

I do like that you know when the other team has picked up a weapon. I just wish it would let me know when someone gets a ridiculous power weapon in a personal drop.

I wonder if that comes up with the ordinance drop predictor ability. I forget the name of it.

No, it doesn't.  It just makes the exact same static drop symbol pop up 10ish seconds earlier.  No warnings for personal ordinance.  It's still an extremely good upgrade.

So much for my stupid guess, then.

A nice take on the new weapon system. I like how it works for the most part. I do get frustrated when I seemingly get the same terrible personal ordiance drops while the other team gets awesome ones.

Does anyone know how they are grouped?

Like ProdigalFox I keep getting Needler, OverShield and something else or Sticky Detonator, SuperSpeed, something else.  I rarely get the SAW, Sniper or Rockets.  I was just wondering if it was tied to how you obtained your drop (assists, kills, objectives, etc...) and that dictated what type of ordinance you were recieving.

I do tend to get most of my kills with a DMR. I wonder if you are rewarded on using a variety of weapons instead of the same over and over?

Yep, saw a waypoint for a sticky detonator but couldn't find it.  Ran upstairs, then downstairs yelling "where the eff is it.'"  Then was told it was stuck in the ceiling LOL.

Could the drop inventory have anything to do with how much you're dying?93

I get rockets, snipers, and disintegrators pretty often and I'm getting killed maybe 3-4 times between kills. Usually BTB.

I die way more than you, and all I ever get is scattershot, speed boost and pulse grenades lol

There are two different drop lists.  One for small - med maps.  One for large maps.  Large maps have more options for snipers, rockets, IC and fuel rod.  It's in the first post release dev blog.  I'm on an iPad and linking it is a pain.  ;)

You mean personal drops? Cos I get the same stuff on Fraggle Rock as I do on Haven. Always.
