Yeah, I just popped in to bring this up as well. This is great news, although it begs the question as to why in hell they took it out in the first place. I presume they did it to make the HUD and its myriad indicators a little more palatable.
I do find it a little strange she would tweet something like that. It implies the next TU is done since 343i avoids giving detail in advance of release, in case the wheels fall off.
I was happy to read the X is returning to Halo. I mean, it's such a small but telling piece of intel, but can really give you a quick indication as to where action is taking place on a map.

Hmmmm...I think this is a 343's sick way of trolling us.
They "give" us back parts of the game that should never have been changed and we are suddenly grateful and have such happy dispositions.
I'm hoping they have the real lobby system waiting in the wings too.

Funny, how many of you said it wasn't a big deal when I mentioned it like 6 months ago? Maybe they will also fix it so you can tell who is talking, firing, taking shots as well...that's too much of a return to halo though I think...

I miss that too. I never realized how much I relied on the icons until they were gone.
343 reminds me a lot of EA. Anyone remember the first one or two Madden releases on the 360? They were pretty much barebones, nothing included from the original xbox games (franchise mode was stripped down, very basic season modes, etc). They finally started re-incorporating that stuff and people praised them for fixing the game. Problem was, it wasn't really broken in the first place. Similar situation here. Yes Reach was pretty bad, but it done many things correctly. 343 comes along and removes the good and only some bad, then starts re-adding the good they removed. Now they're getting praise for 'fixing' the game? Ugh.
