Steam Summer Sale.

I heard rumors of it starting Thursday.  We shall see.  

Steam Sale....FUCK YEAH! and I'm on vacation next week - I could do some real damage if it hits Thursday :)

At this point there isn't much Steam can offer that I haven't already bought from previous sales.  The games I'd be looking for, (Metro Last Light, Bioshock Infinite, Pay Day 2...) are probably still too new to be significantly reduced in price, especially going from their last few sales.  The real thing to look out for will be Steam's competitors who have been consistently blowing them away with sale prices.  Amazon, GreenManGaming, Gamefly, Gamersgate...  I bought all my games from these guys during the last Steam sale.    

I'm mainly looking for cheap dlc.   I'm hoping to score The Walking Dead 400 days maybe half off and other things like that dungeons and dragons beat-em up that was so fun in the arcades.

I'm curious. Like a cat. That's why my friends call me whiskers.

Is the steam sale pretty much across the board or is it more of pick and choose thing? I've been itching to throw my time down the shitter and play some Civ 4 but for the $20 they're asking for I would most likely try to dig up my discs and just play that way. I know not the ways of the steam.

basically they roll deals every day, they put out a couple of games out for say 3 days, then daily they have some deals that last only for a day or a couple of hours - usually you get to vote on those (they'll give you a selection to pick that you want to see on the next flash deal).  so basically just hold off and wait for the game you want because almost all older games usually have a big price drop (50, 70, 80 percent off).

so Civ IV is $9.99 (50% off right now) but I'd hold out it will probably go down to like 80% off during one of the days.  I think I got Civ V for $5.00 last summer.....or I got it free with another game or something.

Good price on Defiance right now.  Bioshock Infinite is tempting but I know it'll be cheaper at some point, gonna wait on that one.  The Community Choice deals are really nice, I'd be fine with BL2, Far Cry 3 or Dishonored winning the vote just to maybe get some cheap DLC since I already have the games. 

I just brought Counter Strike: GO for $5.09.   I have never played a Counter Strike game before but I figured there isn't much too lose at that price.  The only major title on my radar now is Company of Heroes 2 but I doubt they will put that on sale so soon after release.   

Shit, Dark Souls for $7.50 is a must buy imo.  Incredible game.  Look for the hi res texture fix online if you buy it.  You'll want a game pad over mouse and keyboard as well.

Borderlands 2 and the Season Pass for $10 each is a great deal.

Amazon has bioshock infinite cheaper then steam. Tomb Raider 2013 as well a lot of times other sites will throw a sale at the same time. Shop around folks.

civ 5 is 75% off right now biz

So far I picked up Saints Row the 3rd full package and  Hotline Miami.  I'm hoping Don't Starve and Call of Jaurez gunslinger get deeper discounts soon.  Oh and has anyone played Endless Space?  Is it any good?

Right now some great deals just went live.  Chivalry medieval Warfare 6 bucks buy it folks because I don't have enough friends to play the damn thing and it's pretty cool. Like braveheart deathmatch.  Fez is 5 bucks, surgeon simulator 3bucks.  There are others but I own them already like Just cause 2 for 3 bucks.

picked up To the Moon for 2 or 3 bucks yesterday and Civ 5 Gold Upgrade for 5 bones.  Waiting for Crusader Kings 2 to go on a flash (it's 50% off right now)....other than that I don't have a lot of wants....although the current community choice might suck me in depending on the winner: Total War Shogun 2 or Sleeping Dogs for 6 or 7 bucks would be sweet.

Since I'm new to the pc thing and Steam Summer sale I have a question. FTL is $2.49 right now and I want it,but will this drop even more on the last few days?

FTL is one of the best games I played in the last year - I love it :)  2.49 is about as low as it will go.  If a game goes 70/80 percent off that usually is the limit.

I just picked up Chivalry today.  I only have 10gb of disk space left so I am going to transfer some games to my External Drive before I install it.   

right on Chivalry night! (or Knight......see what I did there....)! That game is a blast.

Chivalry "Knight" it is.  Now we just need to set one up.
