Twisted Metal 2nd Boss

So I finally got around to playing Twisted Metal after not being able to game for a while. I was enjoying the game until I had to battle the 2nd boss. This battle could possibly be the most irritating, cheap, stupid, frustrating, difficult boss fight I have had in the last 20 years. I'm a pretty relaxed person but I nearly threw my controller through my wall.

So my question is, does anyone have a good way of doing this? I can manage to get the the third part of the battle, after about 45 minutes. Yes, that's right, It takes me 45 minutes to get to that point. I seem to have issues controlling the nuke when it's heading for her. The 2nd part is relatively easy, I just hide in a tunnel and shoot her feet. It's the 3rd part that messes me up. I can never stay within the "safe zone" in the allotted time. I usually slide off a cliff trying to keep up. After that the time expires and I blow up. There must be an easier way.....

P.S. I am still unable to play any multiplayer matches. Has anyone been able to connect to any?
