Ho ho, second place podium in our monthly rF2 F1 race. Giving me equal first in the series so far...Given I was dropped down a hole in the trackside ending my first race in this series...Not bad for one of GBR's slowcoaches. I suspect some of the lads had not turned a lap of practice for this one though, giving me something of an advantage as a mistake at Long Beach just about always puts you into a wall, never a good thing in an F1 car. I also spend much time in this sim so know not to leave the racing line, the loss of grip can be dramatic when you do that, so that may have played a part.
Anyway whatever the reason for it I came away feeling happy that for once I was not an also ran in a GBR race.
I'll try to remember to give you the heads up for the next one mate. Be nice to have another Euro driver in the mix :)
Hey im interested , I'm not even close to being a euro driver but how do I join in all that euro fun. I'm an American wanna be driver, are those allowed? What do I need to download so I can join?
Heh GBR are mostly US and Canada, us Euro drivers are very much the minority there, the rF2 F1 series runs once a month next one is on the 16th, So drop by the web site and sign up, membership is by invite only I think at the moment, but your not going to have any issues as a 202P man and known as you are you will be welcomed. They run mostly rF1 and a fair few iRacing races that I believe you have already been invited to join. At the moment just the one rF2 series.
Stewards will review & pull the email from the post pretty quickly...or you can send me a PM w/ your email here if you don't want to post it, and I'll get it to the other stewards. Most of our events are fairly low car count, so there is a lot of room on the track to learn and get a feel for the sims. Wednesday evenings however are a different beast. As Knight said, we are predominantly rF1 at the moment...though we are keeping a pretty close eye on rF2 and will likely be gravitating that way as the sim continues to develop and proper mods are released.
