I totally agree with what you're saying. My idea was meant for the traditional spec car which usually fills the 8pm EST to 9-** EST timeslot, when the majority of people join in to race. I also like the idea of working in the dirt/snow races from time to time. I think there's enough of them to fill at least three different nights, so they could be spread out evenly during the 14-weeks of 'normal' tracks (perhaps every fifth-week?) And, I did probably make a few mistakes while compiling the schedule above - there may be a couple of duplicates. The Excel formula I used to generate the schedule was a bit complex: D1*(F1-D3/D1)+N1*[(B2-A3*3.15)-F1^2*3.15]-A4+1
Regarding cars... some of our best races on memory have been in Touring cars. I just did a search on GT6 and there are 36 cars listed in the game as Touring cars, many of which we already own. I say we stick to using Touring cars as much as possible - there's no setups required, every car is truly a "spec" car, and for the most parts the gear ratios are always adjusted automatically based upon the track length. We can always make exceptions for cars we love like Mini Coopers, Red Bull Jr, etc
I'd also go a step further to have every one pick a car color for the touring cars and stick with that color each week. I know it sounds stupid, but that's something I liked about GGG's Mazda Touring Car series - after a few races you could tell who you were racing with based upon car color. I race with all the labels turned OFF (they're distracting) so most nights I have no idea who I'm racing with.
If any of you are short of cash in GT6 then do what I did tonight. I started the day off with about $32,000 in game credits. However, for the past 5 days I've been logging in online and starting up the game just to get the 'login bonus.' I got it up to 5 days tonight so I went in and completed all of the Ayeron Senna challenges. I got golds in all and now I have just over $7-million in credits, thanks to the 200% bonus from 5 consecutive days of logging in. I also fell in LOVE with the Senna F3 car - I think it should be a requirement for one of our up-coming races. The Lotus is a fun car, too, but it's a beast to drive.
I also fell in LOVE with the Senna F3 car - I think it should be a requirement for one of our up-coming races.
I think it will be a requirement for this Thursday races, in fact I'm pretty sure of it because it has been declared this weeks second car as of now. Was going to use this car recently but never got around to it.
Its an easy sell on using all the touring cars but Parcells doesn't want to ignore race set-up cars either so they need to be in the mix as well as anything else people want to add as we sift through the "default" touring/race cars as Parcells sees it...scroll through these cars/tracks until someone wants to introduce something they want to drive ad-hoc like the awesome Opel Speedster Turbo as an example
I have some time today so will put together some stuff to organize this...will email Grimm
Demoted Senna to car 1 status, there’s a certain car/track combo Parcells wants to familiarize himself with so that’s been promoted to car 2 status, giddy up!
I also like the standard color combo for every racer even though I don’t give a shit so Parcells official color combo will be In-violet body, mustard yellow wheels, car number 11. I encourage all participants to adopt a standard color but if you wish to be difficult and play only for yourself and not for the joy of others the most we can do is hurl verbal internet assaults towards you which we may just do so play along and be a sport…Mark!
I have all of Jason’s tracks in a spreadsheet and will keep track of which groups we run. I’ll do a similar thing for all the cars we run which by default will be touring or race car setups unless someone wants to run a specific car. No doubt I can publish these for everyone too but lets not get ahead of ourselves. If someone wants to name a specific car and specific tracks you can still do so and we’ll just pick up with the default 14 sets of tracks the following week, easy peasey!
So other than the promotion of participants to pick a default car color nothing really has changed except now we have this default car and track system when nobody wants to pick either which is almost every week so its all good and any questions?
This weeks cars below…, see you Thursday.

Going old school again boys, actually tested these cars. In fact I have tested our next 10 cars or so and it's time to step it up a bit. It's time to start purchasing some of the more expensive cars...I have 3 million dollar vehicles lined up over the next month or thereabouts starting with the most expensive (1.2 mil) Opel touring car this week.

The last 2 races for car 1 will be dirt tracks just not sure which ones yet, will make that call when we absolutely have to. Not sure why I included an oval for car 2, we'll see if that turns out to be a mistake come Thursday.
If attendance is up and the consensus is for some longer races with a long overdue Ferrari on some classic F1 tracks we will drop Motegi and run 4 x 18'ish minute races.

Car 1 – Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione - 1991 - Sport soft
Depleted my pre-tested car list so completely winging it this week. Not sure if we've done the Z28 before but definitely the Golf. Guessing the Golf can manage Sport soft tires???, we'll see.
Parcells...Was at Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine the last week...Kept looking out over the ocean but could not see you. See You Thursday...Heading back tomorrow.
You would have seen me Wheels a few hundred years ago when the Earth was flat.
Having tested the Corvette last evening the default race hard tyres aren't going to cut it so tonight we will run race medium on the Corvette...looking forward to my return!
Both of those cars tonight ROCKED! Please add them both to the list of 'spec cars' for the A/B track schedule. Corvette is definitely a B-Class car, but the Senna car could really be either.
Dont know what the hell happend in the High Speed Ring race. Was having a great battle with Warden and Dan only to have my car destroyed with damage at all four corners and the engine because someone thought it was a good idea to run in the opposite direction and took out the whole field. Decided to just call it a night after that.
The problem was I don't know who it was as. It happened just as the leaders were exiting the tunnel and was blinded by the glare. Never saw the car in time to take avoiding action The timing was perfect in a way as it was a shock to see it happen. next thing I notice was a large pile up and everyone taking back off again yet I have as stuck due too damage.
Yeah that shit storm took out most of the field, not our finest hour for sure. I guess we'll have to assume someone just got turned around and looked to be going in the wrong direction??? I would prefer to place the blame on someone and shame them but doesn't look like that can be done...oh well
Parcells..Sorry I couldn't make it Thursday...With the Wife being off I am no doubt choker chained. As for the Mishap with 3G's and Company...I Know Exactly Who it is even though I wasn't there. I have been "Head On" quite a few times on Thursday Nights by this Individual...He Knows that I Know that is why I received a PM stating "SNITCHES GET STITCHES"!!!!....If 3G's provides protection I will Give Him Up!!!
Hahaha - I saw that car facing the wrong way about a split-second before three others piled into him. I hit the brakes hard and ended up a wicked dirft right through the smoke with cars bouncing all around me, lol. I have no clue how I made it throug that mess and then just kept going. I've never seen any one driving backwards intentionally - at least not during a race. My car got loose every time I hit the brakes coming out of the tunnel, so maybe the guy had spun and just picked the wrong time to turn back around.
As it turns out I know exactly what (or rather, who) caused the big wreck on High Speed Ring last week. I save replays from time to time and I remembered that I saved that one so that I could watch the huge wreck. The person who caused the wreck was driving a different car than the rest of us and decided to practice his drifting skills during the race. Around lap-3 he spun himself out and then decided to resume his practice in the opposite direction of traffic, while the race was still going on. Not sure what exactly was the reason for him doing all that but I'd vote that the guy gets banned if he does it again. We all wreck one another from time to time but that was kind of ridiculous.
My aspirations for Thursday past included a good night of racing (accomplished) followed by a quick viewing of Federer's beat down of Monfills (quick so the last aspiration could come true) followed by watching the fourth quarter of what could/should be an awesome game and if it's close coming down the stretch all the better for me. I had paused my TV on tennis so when racing finished up (a tad early to follow the plan/scheming) I was still watching half way through the first set.
Fast forwarded most of the second set and some of the third and eventually caught up to live TV near the end of the fourth around midnight my time. Now I could check on the football game which was (I think) just into the fourth quarter and was releived that Seattle had it in control because at this point I'm watching one of Federer's (Parcells favorite) immpressive 2 set come from behind victory during which he staved off 2 match points, Oh Man was it exciting and nerve wracking.
In the end we only accomplished the first aspiration but in hindsight Parcells went to sleep very satisfied if you know what I mean...you probably don't?
On the assumption Djokovic and Federer wrap up today's matches do yourself a favor and try to watch the finals Monday at 5:00 EST. I watch a shit load of sports and over the past half a dozen years any tennis match involving Federer/Nadal/Djokovic is pretty much guaranteed to deliver the highest quality tennis (and frequently close) you'll ever witness. Sure you have your...SuperBowl, Final 4, College football (awesome!), World Juniors(hockey), Canadian Brier and any other sport that usually delivers awesomeness but when these 3 guys play each other the awesomeness is pretty much guaranteed. Trust your heart and trust Parcells!
p.s. @Grimm - I'm in a suicide pool and someone actually picked Seattle the other night...from where I sit that took some serious balls. Now to figure out who Parcells should rest his luck on for the ever so nervous week 1 guesses (yikes!)
