Gunzerker grenade expansions disappear!!?!?!

I've got a level 23 Gunzerker, fully expanded Grenade slot...so I could toss 8 grenades. Jumped into a game with my buddy last night and leveled up a little. Made sure not to meet any mission objectives since that would overrite my game.

Save and quit after we were done.

Fast forward to this morning. Start up my game and spawn in sanctuary. Go to my inventory and see my ammo is low...notice my grenades say 3 of 3.....wtf.....

So I guess my Gunzerker will either need to be restarted or just wait for a patch before I progress....I dunno. That really really annoys me.

Any suggestions or has anyone had a similar experience? Everything else is fine. Just missing my grenade expansions. And I checked the black market.....not available to rebuy.
