The server is open to any 2o2p members and individuals affiliated with these members. We all work and play together and respect one anothers creations on the server. The server will be up and running as long as it is being used, it is up 24/7 as it has its own dedicated machine to run it. If the need arises and we get more and more players using the server I will eventually upgrade to a larger machine. Furthermore we do use texture packs although I have not enforced them as a mandatory download for the server, mods will be in the near future as soon as they can be fixed from the aftermath of 1.3.1 release. Feel free to join the server and take a look around the stuff built is pretty spread out at the moment as we have 2 main locations accross the world that we have built on. Server IP 76.104.208.162
absolutely, the server info is listed in this thread just jump on in and make sure we know your from 2o2p or you might be removed we try and keep it to 2o2p friends and family so we dont have to worry about griefing and such.
Washington state, if you are having ping issues you should check into your firewall and or security programs and possibly your routers firmware and porting.
I could help you trouble shoot this easier if I could talk to you in voice chat of some type let me know when you have time I can give you my cell # also if it is easier and you do not have any VoIP programs. It sounds to me like something is restricting your bandwidth I have not ran into this problem thus far with the server but I will do what I can to help you resolve it.
I'm glad you all have ironed out your technical issues. As for the question from the other thread Oldschoolsmart, No the castle I am building is not a representation of cinderellas castle but merely a product of my own design. It is however nowhere near finished as I keep coming u p with more and more to add or take away, I will post updated pics of it as I progress in the design in case anyone is interested.
I had to raid a bit of livestock as I was gonna starve, and I'm not sure who's it was ( ), but I didn't take much and tried to do it so it wouldn't hurt the population. I went to the small place mentioned in the thread first by loc, and it was empty.
I'm over in the snowy area past the last compound.
Someone went way overboard on the redstone track on the railway, only need one every 16-18 or so for max speed if I remember correctly.
Place is huge, a lot of stuff done in here, but I have to ask. Is everyone doing creative or survival? The only time I ran into anything hostile, was in the mine I started and I lucked into a zombie spawner doing it! ( 2 chests )
The server is set to survival, there are massive mines throughout the map (we have been busy) the previous location listed in this thread was before the world map was reloaded to a new map as there were some issues with the snapshot and certain glitches causing areas to have unbreakable blocks the new area is the spawn area when you first enter the map, I have built a "plantation" there to help people not starve there are animals as well as crops growing just try and replant anything taken (other than melons since they regrow). The vanilla servers have poor mob spawning which is why the server will be changed to a bukkit server asap. However, since the 1.3 update bukkit has not released a stable build in which I trust to offer a reliable server on. After the server is changed back to bukkit the mob spawning will be changed immensely. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to get ahold of me or if you want a tour or someone to build with let me know I am almost always up to help out or just chew the fat while we work on seperate projects.
Bukkit has plug-ins that contain different mods. The mods that are available after the 1.3 update are quite limited until the developers rebuild their mods. Many of us are using the texture pack Dokucraft which is in my opinion an amazing texture pack it does however require MC patcher to work properly. Sham is another 2o2p member who utilizes the server, more and more people are discovering the server is there which makes me happy as I set this whole thing up free of charge to 2o2p members so we could have a place to build in peace without fear of griefing or admin abuse. I figured I might as well put my professional experience to use for something. I am glad to hear the server is running smoothly for you I know others have had issues with latency with the server which can be caused by many things including but not limited to many variables that are client side.
I made an egg farm and when I got it all set up, the eggs floated on top of the water instead of sinking and dropping through the glass panes and collecting at the bottom in the water?
Did I miss something in the last update? I hope they didn't break this as it's great to have all the eggs (cake), ->chicken -> feathers ->arrows you'd ever want at your fingertips. Might have to simply set up a holding pen and collect them manually, very pedestrian, hehe.
I continually am struggling with food. I may have to break down and make a farm, but I'm over in the snow area and it may be a tad tough...
Also noticed what may be lag? It's most noticably when an action is performed and the sound is out of sync.
Lag on a server will consist of blocks being broken and returning after they were broken. Sound issues are client side as the server does not run the sound files from your pc it is possible depending on the specs of your computer and the memory allocated to the minecraft client that your client was having issues keeping up with you. There is a way to run your client with increased memory to ensure this does not happen however, doing this means you cannot run tons of background programs unless your pc is designed as a monster ie. my pc runs 16gb memory so allocating 1g toward minecraft is nothing. If you would like to know how to do this let me know it is quite helpful in ensuring there is no lag client side.
ps. you can access your minecraft fold by typing %appdata% into the windows run feature than accessing the the .minecraft folder.
Since the 1.3 update sounds are now done server side. They did this so you could hear what your friends were doing. Breaking blocks, walking etc. I have read on the minecraft forums of people having sound lag. It could be caused by many things I'm sure.
I do not trust most forum posts unless done by Mojang as most are done by kids not professionals; if the sounds are indeed server side now than the client side connection to the server could be an issue which in turn is a client side issue. I know the machine the MC server is running on has alot of security running to make sure noone can get into my network through that particular machine. Also the server is only restarted once a week generally unless I hop on and notice something out of place.
Yes, and Yes they are! I have no idea why they were'nt before, but I redid the spacing and it seems to be better now. Had to torch the place massively to keep the water from freezing up. I hate worrying about food, and a chicken farm is great for food.
Huge caverns under it as well. I have an entrance over by the water, to the North I think? Follow the stone walkway, it'll get you there.
I need to dld the skin pack so I can see all this same as everyone else.
Just be careful not to fall in the mines Timber and myself have dug out. Some run under your home site. We started at the big mine close to the start area, and branched out in many directions. Some of the shafts are a 10 to 15 minute walk.
I think Im going to hop on it tonight and give it a shot. Ive been wanting to get back into the PC Minecraft but it's hard to get my other friends to join me.
The download pack for the server will be updated today (when I can get around to it). My brother has updated the texture pack to be compatible with 1.4.6.
Been looking for a server to join. Do you have this open to anyone? What are your plans for it?

I would like to play on the server also. It has been awhile since I have played the PC version.

I just played some. Where is the server located? My ping was 15238ms. The builds look great!
Washington state, if you are having ping issues you should check into your firewall and or security programs and possibly your routers firmware and porting.
I`ve played on the server, had no issues, ping was like 100 or so, and I`m in Ireland.
Try what Custom said.
Ok so I port forwarded minecraft. I turned off avast. I turned off windows firewall. No luck.
Then I connected pc to modem directly with ethernet cable so I could by pass router all together and still get the same thing.
I played on a hosted server in California and Atlanta(My 5 man server) this morning and got normal pings.
Is there anything else I should try? I am not a wiz at networking.
Atlants ping: 80+ms
California ping: 100+ms
202P server: 15000+ms
Edited to add:
I just got "Connection Lost" "BadPacket ID 69" the error message had some other text too but I didn't catch it all.
I assume this is packet loss?
When I am on the server it isn't laggy at all. I just get booted after about 2 or 3 minutes.
I could help you trouble shoot this easier if I could talk to you in voice chat of some type let me know when you have time I can give you my cell # also if it is easier and you do not have any VoIP programs. It really isn't that big of a deal. The last time I played I didn't get kicked at all so hopefully that will continue. Thank you for your help.
I will try to get into this in the next day or two. And, (sigh I'm getting old), if I have problems I'll see if one of my kids will help...
Is the server still on 1.3.1 or upgraded to 1.3.2?
I hit join server and immediately got a connection lost. No prompt for a pass, nothing.
Never mind, solved. I got in.

Sounds like that's where I was. I started something to the other side of it than the track system.
Does the bukkit mod have quarries by chance?
BTW, I briefly spoke to someone in there named "Sham"?
Oh, and the connection was solid, lag free and I'm over in North Eastern Tennessee!
Bukkit has plug-ins that contain different mods. The mods that are available after the 1.3 update are quite limited until the developers rebuild their mods. Those aren't tunnels, they're a freaking subway system! That's why I went North before I started digging.
Yeah, we normally get on about 10pm central and stay till about 8am. We spend about 90% of that time underground. lol
For all of you interested in playing on the PC I do still have a server set up bu tht eIP has indeed changed.
The server IP is: 67.168.0.147
There is no password there is also no griefing mods in place so please respect the items built by other players.
If you have any questions shoot me a pm and I will answer them asap.
