If you're looking for Diablo 3 alternatives
Path of Exile, a free to play Diablo style game currently in closed public beta is having an open beta weekend to stress stess test the servers. The game opens up at around 5pm PST friday and goes thru to midnight Sunday i believe.

Didn't the Torchlight 2 beta hit a short time ago?
Yes there was an open beta weekent for Torchlight 2 some time ago. Not sure if they are planning any more before teh game launch. I actually thought the game would be out by now, Guild Wars 2 hits the end of the month I think. And then it's all the usuall holiday releases so honestly Torchlight 2 might have missed their best window of opportunity until January of next year in my opinion.
I played torchlight 1 and it filled a void left behind by Titan Quest, however I'm not sure a second iteration is going to fare much better. there were some cool tricks with the first; however they left it open for modification which leaves me questioning the validity of any sort of multiplayer. (Same happened with Titan Quest)
i'll play TL2. Until then I have Darksiders II, Borderlands 2, Dishonored, ACIII, and Halo 4. I'll be fine without any other new games :)
