King's Fall Raid, Fri, August 12
Sign up here for the King's Fall raid on Friday, August 12 at 9pm Eastern/ 6pm Pacific. No raid experience necessary, but you should be at least 300 light and have a decent, high-impact sniper, like the 1000 Yard Stare for sale at the Vanguard vendor. We usually run for about two hours more or less. If you need to change plans, we understand, but post here again as soon as possible so we can find a replacement. If there are already six participants, please consider signing up as an alternate. Stuff happens, even at the last minute.
In for NM. Alt for HM.
Here for normal and/or hardmode :) Maybe my brother to so count me as 1.5 people
Hopefully we can take out Oryx on HM this weekend. If so then in for NM to help new peeps thru. If not then I will want to run HM.
Update: HM is done! It's back to NM to help people!
i am in i do not care hard mode or normal mode i am in
Ranger and I will be available for either HM or NM if needed or if we can keep the 2 raid "tradition" going.
In for Hard Mode!
My buddy and I would be down for Normal Mode. I have yet to beat the raid on Xbox One, but have experience on PS4. Currently a 315 Titan.

Sounds like we might be able to get two raiding parties going again. I'll get chat going a little before 9pm Eastern and we'll figure it out. If you are looking to achieve something specific, please chime in here! Lacking any such knowledge, it seems like getting some new people through the raid might be the most fun objective. It looks like we could have DEEP_NNN and OldnAchy form the basis of a normal mode party for the newer people (Shudderdust and his buddy, aAdamToRemember and maybe his brother) and then hopefully form a hard mode party as well.
I'm sure I'll be online, so let me know if I'm needed for either group.
happy with normal mode to be with my brother, he wont be able to use a mic so ill have to communicate with him via skype or something similar.
if its possible can we start the normal mode as early as possible :) its great playing with you all but if its possible to start at 7 eastern rather then 9 it makes a massive difference for us !
if we cant its no problem and we will be online for the normal start time
I can probably be on earlier Adam, so if we can get an early group, I"d be up for helping you guys.
For those of you that don't know, Adam and his bro are across the pond in the UK, so 7:00 eastern is midnight for them.
Ranger and I can probably do 8.
aAdamToRemember: Everyone and especially your brother would probably be much more comfortable if he has a mic, but it's essential that he can at least hear party chat. Regarding the time, I think we should leave it where it is for Friday, but that doesn't mean we can't do an early run some other weekend day. This is "send the daughter off to college" weekend for me, but even next weekend might be feasible.
Unfortunately 7 PM is early for me, but I am sure we can figure something out.
Alt for whichever mode not earlier than the usual 9pm EDT. (I may have to be "on call" for some busy weekend preparation)
any time is good but the ealier the better we wont moan if its 9 est :) My brother has the same ability as me so id like to think he will pick it up as quick i did ( my first raid with you all was with no Mic )
he will be able to hear chat that is no problem
List for two groups - one normal and one hard, who's in for each?
Hemihuman will set that up.
We ran two groups again tonight! aAdamToRemember, BLAMnation, DatBasementCat, Darth Tabasco, Ra Darkman, and myself worked on BLAM's Oryx hard mode checkpoint. We were not able to knock it out, but came extremely close in our best try (killed the shade, but killed by Doxology anyhow on one of the last rounds). We'll get him next time!
Normal group Doorgunner, KalSC, SC Ranger, Old n Achy, Jester and DEEP NNN finished the sisters. Might have finished it all but Achy experienced network (bungie) problems and the SCs' lost their power.
Playing with Krak's team is much different than what I play normally with my regular deaf raid team and it took some getting used to Krak's and others' ways. With my deaf raid team, I'm usually either holding plate #1 for the relic getter or shoot ogres from the center using bubble's Weapon of Light perk on (and to help other players get to the bubble-center in time for health regeneration). We know where to shoot Hive swords after we killed ogres. We all go for 16 balls detonations, not 8 and 8.
Last night I had an unresponsive A button issue few times from my controller while jumping on platforms or other jumping issues. It is my only working controller so far and I don't wanted to plunk down $60 for a new one yet (I know about used controllers for less but I rather have a brand new one). Would love to have the Xbox1 Elite controller but $$$.
Oh, well. Get 'em next time. Next week is Oryx challenge.
Regular controller on sale at Amazon for $49. If you are starting to lose functionality on your only controller I would highly recommend biting the bullet and getting a new one --

Cheeze, you should have let us know what you wanted to do or were most comfortable. I think somebody mentioned you are a pretty good runner, so that's why we asked you to try. Had we known it wasn't something you weren't really comfortable with doing, we'd have switched sooner.
I would have been glad to run relic, but I also like to give people the chance to get it done. Afterall, it's the most challenging and important part of the Oryx encounter.
Our issues weren't really due to the way we were running the bombs, we were having issues with just basic stuff. I guess it just wasn't our night - it happens.
No worries though, I'm glad you joined us!
Amazing that I was the only one being kicked back to orbit. Never really happened to me before. Each time it came without warning, black screen, the "delay" gif, bottom right then a simple message that I had left my fireteam and back in orbit. After the 6th or 7th time I shut down, rebooted the router, changed from wireless to wired -- I have an AC gaming bridge -- and signed back on. That seemed to work for the rest of the night until KalSC went to orbit and apparently dragged a couple of us with her! This morning I moved the game from external to internal storage just as another preemptive move, but I expect the problem was more the Bungie server I was connecting to last night. The marble box is still active!!
Regardless (after I calmed down a little) the night was still a lot of fun. We stumbled a little at the Totems, but took out the War Priest on the second round which was really sweet! KalSC did a great job taking gaze from Golgy with her Titan, although she expanded her vocabulary while trying the Titan jump Ripping was really quick getting to the relic at the Sisters and Doorgunner even made it all the way around to the relic.
I think if we could have started on time without all the network and power issues that we could have taken out the big guy himself.
