Count on me to race if you do this. I liked everything about yesterday's race. Apologies to Parcells for running up his ass in turn-3 at Laguna. No excuse, it was all on me.
I'm for the field inversion. Faster in the back makes for better racing and gives some relief to those victims of circumstance from the previous heat. I like having damage on, limited or simulation.
A no-passing rule on the starts is ok with me, but I thought yesterday's turn-1 mayhem was fairly realistic. Turn-1 is always an opportunity to end your race in real life. It's part of the sport and it's a skill that can be improved. The multiple-heat format and inverted starting grid serve as a built-in recovery mechanism.
My suggestion for car selection is that they have decent mirrors (on a single-screen) and that they be A-class or slower. I agree with Parcells on all other counts.
I humbly ask that tracks and cars be announced well in advance. I love to practice.
Yeah there were a few incidents, but given the number of cars and how tightly grouped we were (and the fact they were twitchy Lotii) I think things went pretty well. I say keep things the way they were.
Just as a counter point to the no passing until after the first corner.....all you'll be doing then is trading potential a skirmish in T1 for a potential skirmish/traffic jam on the starting line if someone towards the front or mid pack gets a bad start & cars behind that get good launches are not allowed to pull out and pass.
Had a blast. Can't wait to do it again. It was great to see some of the new guys out there (and mixing it up too ).
Parcells tends to agree with the latter points of "do not expect much, if anything, to change". First and foremost is to have fun but that can be done observing standard race etiquette and while there was some turmoil yesterday it wasn't that bad and we've all seen worse that's for sure. There will be no rolling starts nor rules forbidding passing until after turn one and there definitely won't be cautions...Parcells hates cautions and definitely not needed in these quick races.
Certainly not changing the standard algorythym that places me at the top of the podium regardless of how I performed and anything involving extra work or preparation on my part will be dismissed in short order.
I don't think any tweaks are needed. As Tourni noted in one of his messages, rear end collisions are generally the fault of the guy running in back, because he can see the person in front better than the person in front can see him. Just drive as if the person in front you might brake at any moment.
Parcells is wrong? Where did that come from? We may have to revisit your 2O4F application Kevin boy. Bla bla bla Parcells is against rewarding our youth today simply for showing up but lets be honest, in the case of the Lotus extravanganza we're all winners for participating so we'll leave it at that.
Sold on the Exige, should we schedule something for Sept. 15?
I'm sure I'll redo some of the tracks but will decide on a final 5 this weekend and update the thread OP and title. Earlier you mentioned you like to practise. Practising should be discouraged but if you feel you must I have no other choice but to dock you a 5 grid position penalty. Hope you understand it's nothing personal.

Indeed. Aready learned that lesson from the Tuesday-night racing.
I suppose research and study are out, too? I shouldn't be watching replay telemetry?
Go ahead and put me in the back. I'll make it up in turn-one.
Parcells, you might want to get your thread under control.....it's starting to run rampant.
Was thinking the same thing Helios so let’s start with you and take a look in the mirror you troublemaking antagonizer.
Guys,
This is a serious thread intended for serious discussion about this serious event. I’ll be monitoring it from here on out and watching for shenanigans. If necessary there could be disciplinary action or possibly hard sanctions brought upon repeat offenders and Parcells decision is final (Consider Parcells the Roger Goodell of this league!)
Parcells is offering a special prize (Oh, it’s special all right, you can be sure of that) to the first person to makes one of the newbies (Zoomer, Lobo, Crleo or Kevin) cry.
You keep pushing me and pushing me OldSchool so it’s time to lay down some punishments.
Henceforth, for a period of one full week, you are forbidden from posting in this thread.
“Aarrghhhh! I could have killed them all, I could have killed you. In town you’re the law, out here it’s me. Don’t push it. Don’t push it or I’ll give you a war you wont believe. Let it go. Let it go!”

With that positive attitude you'll last long around here Crleo. Now smarten the hell up!
Yeah, he's fitting in right nicely.
I'm down with the 15th no matter the format or tracks!
15th is good for me as lng as we can finish before I have to run the Cayman series. I'll need to start my room up around 3:30 central.
Gonna miss the 15th.
Griot's Garage Sale.
Finally, my surly old asshole self finds acceptance.
Yeah, there's a bunch of crotchety old buggers 'round these parts.
Assholes aswell
Was someone looking for me?
Did I hear someone calling Knight?

Doing my part. (oldschool made me do it)
If you were on the fence about these cars, you missed out. Get in on the next one! Loads of fun, even stock.
