Mechromancer will drop today Oct 9th

That is the big news Randy will drop in the next few hours or so. Im stoked, cant wait to try this class out. I might need to  go on a power leveling run to get this thing ranked up faster for boss runs. Playing through the same story more than 4 times in 2 weeks makes me not want to do it all over again tomorrow.

Also, a patch for those that aren't getting it, so they can still play with others that do.

1 change I noticed is that early on, that mission Sir Hammerlock gives you to fix that vending machine and buy a shield on top of that bandit hideout place is no longer a story mission. In fact, he gives you a shield as a reward for completing a story mission before it's even available.

This is what sucks about releasing a new class.  EVERYONE will want ot try the class out so you won't have the group dynamic of different classes.

Agreed. Still on my first playthrough anyway, so gonna stick with my main for now, and once the rush dies down, I'll give it a shot. Maybe save her for a run after one or more of the bigger DLC packs comes out?

Especially since the mechromancer is currently glitched and you can only use her with folks that have her downloaded.

What is this that LB is tweeting about the Mechromancer resetting Badass Stats? Anyone ran into this glitch yet? Was going to run to Sanctuary with her tonight but think I might wait now if that's the case

Tell me this isn't so!! I was looking forward to trying out this class when I get home later. I hope it doesn't reset your badass rank.

I've heard that there are some glitches where you keep your badass rank but it resets your stats. The problem with that is that many of the badass challenges are one-offs that once you do them, they are done. The reset doesn't reset these one-off challenges so you're screwed if it happens to you.

We've been talking about this in another thread, but ya the jist of it is this

 

So far i've seen reported

-Badass ranks reset to 0

-Skins/heads removed

-Any extra golden keys disappeared

-Shotguns not showing how many rounds they use per shot

-Shields that add/remove health no longer tell you

 

I copied my gamesave off to a memory stick before i started up BL2 at lunch.  Then removed the flash drive and fire dup BL2, accepted the patch and continued my game.  All the stuff was there, no resets.  I have not downloaded the DLC though, my impression was that the path was the cause of the problem for people.  I'll download Mechro after work, but for now i know my game works fine post-patch.

Really?  I thought that was what the patch was for, to enable her in a view only mode so you can play coop even if you don't have her.   They really f'd up moving her up so early for release, needed more time in the oven.

At the time I posted it was messed up. Seemed to be just fine around 9pm or so.

 

This chick is crazy. That Anarchy skill makes her a better sniper at level 6 than zero is at level 50. It says you lose 1.75% accuracy for every stack, but that only applies to hip fire. You scope in and sniper rifles are just as accurate as you could want. Even with SMGs as long as you're scoped in her accuracy doesn't really suffer that much. I can only imagine the damage she'll do at 50 with a Bee shield and a couple hundred stacks of Anarchy.

On top of that, Deathtrap does absurd amounts of damage and can walk right through walls so there's no problem with him finding the enemy. And unlike with Axton's turret he doesn't become the immediate focus of every bullet so he'll stay out there forever.

I love that she says 'DOINK" when you critical hit someone in the face.

 

As for the accuracy loss... it does begin to affect sniping at some point.  I was up in the 90s with my anarchy stack and I couldn't snipe anyone's head anymore.  I was like WTF is going on, then i remembered it's a skill effect.  Given this, i'm not sure it's worth adding points into her ability to increase the amount of stacks you can have if she's already this inaccurate at around 100.  Get up to like 200 and you'd need a shotgun to hit anything.  I guess maybe you need to pair that with the 'close enough' skill so thise stray shots still have a chance at hitting something.

 

First time I deployed Deathtrap, we were fighting Terramorphus.  I deployed him out in the middle and ran for the ramp... i turn around and he's right behind me.  That robot ain't stupid :lol:

 

Also i find it suspicious that the Mechro DLC is 80ish megs but the compatibility pack is 200megs. IF this is truly just allowing people without Mechro to play with people who have her, why the size difference?

Don't forget they also had to fuck up the health on the shields, screw certain people out of badass ranks and other things. That takes space.
