More Borderlands a gurantee

With almost 6 million shipped, it's Take Two's biggest title and the title with the most downloadable content sold (either the full game or dlc add ons) to date.  I think it's all but guranteed that we'll see more Borderlands 2 DLC after the season pass and there will be a borderlands 3.  Companies don't typically walk away from a cash cow.

Borderlands 2 is sneaking up on the 6 million mark for units shipped, and well on the way to exploding 2K Games' sales records. Speaking in yesterday's financials call, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said the rambunctious shooter was the company's biggest earner in terms of digital sales across the fiscal year.

"Building on its extraordinary launch in September, Borderlands 2 continues to expand its audience and remains on pace to become the highest-selling title in 2K's history," said Zelnick. "It has also been the largest contributor to our digitally delivered revenue this year, driven both by strong sales of full game downloads, and high attach rates for the title's add-on content, especially the Borderlands 2 Season Pass."

The Gearbox-developed sequel had shipped over 5 million back in October 2012. While shipments aren't the same as sales, it's worth noting the original Borderlands sold 4.5 million copies as of August 2011.

I'll get borderlands 3 but I'll be damned if I get another season pass when I buy it.

I got the season pass when the game came out and two months later it went on sale.

This is particularly true on Steam. Being avant-gardistic there with bundle-deals will cost you in the end. It's by far better to choice-pick DLC you want NOW and sit back to snatch the DLC you didn't get right off the bat during the many sales.

Yeah, this has been pretty much confirmed on Randy's twitter account. It was mentioned they're looking into it, and people started complaining about it not being in the Season Pass and that it was bullshit. Randy replied by saying simply theSeason Pass, says nothing about every DLC being including, it simply states you'll get 4 big story dlcs before this summer he said.

i get what Randy is saying, but the term Season Pass does seem to imply that you get all the DLC released for a game. I mean if I get a season pass to an amusement park they don't cut me off after 6 visits. Maybe they should have used a buy 3 get 1 free type terms instead of "season pass". But yeah after I did the GOW season pass I said never again.

I know what the Season Pass intent is, however the name is misleading.  Expectations when you say you're buying a season pass is you get everything for a set period of time, no limitations.  I can see how some people would be confused since video game season passes sometimes follow what the average consumers expecation of a season pass would give, and some don't.

If I have to PAY for a level cap increase beyond the season pass, then no way are they getting my money. Its a huge bait and switch. The whole Borderlands community was expecting the same format as Borderlands 1 and Gearbox banked on that assumption, by purposely omitting the level cap out of the season pass. Now YOU/WE would have to buy any level cap beyond the season pass thus making even more $$$. We were just bitch slapped by Gearbox, how did it feel?

Especially when they said , whiile Bl2 was in dev that it would have much more storage capacity than bl1.  WHich when you say that while the game is in dev, the expectation is that the game will launch with this feature, not be tacked on months after release potentially for an extra fee.

That's pretty much why I always avoid the season pass thing.  Because it's pretty misleading and there isn't a clearly defined rule on what is/isn't included in the pass.  Plus, as some have already commented on in other posts, not purchasing the season pass allows you to pick and choose what DLC you want.  I

Because 2 of the 3 dlc so far were absolute crap honestly. Hammerlock's DLC has been pretty much deemed almost Moxxi Arena bad by most of the BL2 community. The Torgue DLC was the only half way decent one, and while so freaking funny, was amazingly short :(

This game's dlc has been such a disappointment, and most people now regret getting the pass, b/c they'd have rather just skipped them all together or maybe only bought Torgue and save $20. When you buy passes, it gives the devs the ability to produce crappy dlc with no fall back. Gearbox has outsourced all the dlc as well, all they've done is write it, and you can tell too, as the areas are boring crap, and have nothing of interest in them. The enemies are just a bunch of reskins/rehashes, which I expect in the main campaign, but dlc is "supposed" to be "new" content.

I expected a level cap increase by now, each dlc to bring vehicles, useful new weapons, big areas like in BL1, and have new funny characters mixed in with a few classic characters with story that expanded upon the main game's.

It would've been really cool to have all 4 dlcs take place on a new smaller planet, and have the Vault Hunters, progress slowly and at the end open a new vault. With all the revealed vaults at the end, it would've been perfect and a cool way to lead into BL3 the way BL1's dlc did with 2.

As far as I remember Gearbox made it perfectly clear what was in SP and what wasn't. This is the same kind of talk as with the Mechromancer. Gearbox made it very clear that the Mechromancer would be Collector's Edition DLC. Yet there were people buying the SP because they thought the Mechromancer would be included in that. It frankly boggles my mind...

I got more than I anticipated with the seasons pass.  I expected and received 4 DLC campain packs for the price of 3 and receintly they bumped my level cap from 50 - 61 for free.  For me if you play Borderlands you buy the DLC, I hope they have the SP option next time so I can save a few bucks

With EA scrapping the online-pass and backwardsly lifting it from older titles, I think that the era of Season's Passes is also drawing to a close.
