Need volunteers for a massive project my wife wants me to do.
I have built some pretty neat stuff on my map including a giant pagoda, the bio dome, and a decent greenhouse. Now my wife wants me to recreate the disney AKA cinderella castle. I have looked up blueprints and schematics for this and it does not seem as if it would be extremely hard to do. However, the project would be massive and I could use a hand with anyone who has experience with drafting. If your interested my Gamertag on XBOX live is CUST0M 45. I am usually on later at night as I play diablo during the earlier hours but I can get on in the evening to suite someone elses schedule.
Sounds like fun. Drafting is actually part of my job so I'll shoot you a message on live. Hopefully it's not those crappy plan views that provide little detail![smiley smiley](http://www.2old2play.com/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.gif)
Yeah, shoot me an invite when I'm on and I'll lend a hand.
This is what I have been able to collect thus far. I hope it will be enough to get it at least partially correct but I wish I could just get ahold of a real copy.
I can see the first step being to build a tall ass tower about 2 x 2, that you can stand on, so you can get the view as shown in the middle/left bird's eye picture. That way 1 person can get up there and call out adjustments easier.
Edit: Don't forget to start this on a new world as the Clay generation patch was released today.
Not much brick needed for this build, though.
True.
What are we gonna use for the blue towers? We can't use wool as those towers are giant lightning rods and will rightly catch fire the first storm that comes along.
Edit: It just occured to me that this also needs to be built from the inside out. If we build the outter perimeter first and happen to make it too small we're boned because we just built ourselves in to a corner
ALways adjust but 1 block, this will allow for you to maintaint he space needed to compelte the interior. So in the case of a room adjust by 1 blobk on each wall, which means even the outside will be adjusted by 1 block unless we make it thicker than needed, and the scale is gonna be larger than we might think in order to make it a real castle and not a miniature. When you visit my map you will see the scale of objects on there although the main building is unfinished it is a good example.
Lapis blocks.
Oh shit! I'm a dumbass.
if im online and you are as well,.. i can be a digging fool... resource runner... send me a FR.
OMG that is going to be freaking AMAZING! Being a disney freak and someone who's been to Walt Disney World over 40 times I'd love to help on it in any way possible.
Gentlemen. Now, you're in deep shit. Disney here is going to nerd this thing up.
Not sure what everyones xbox tags are so mine is CUST0M 45 the 0 is a zero send me a FR and we can get crackin on this thing. Working on converting the measurements of the castle into minecraft not an easy task to say the least.
Ya. I can't even find a hint of a measurement anywhere and I don't really feel like paying $100 for a set of blueprints. There was one place offering them for $25 but I'd be willing to bet they are concept sketches which are worthless for scaling measurement.
I began doing concepts using the structure planner (which is an amazing tool) and the center peice seems to look correct at 20x20x30 LxWxH. try it out and let me know what you think.
I can't get the structure planner to run right on my computer.
Looks like my drafting won't be any help to you.
Whatever you do, DO NOT LET TACO ON YOUR WORLD.
It will not end well.
Taco? Why's there lava on the stairs, Taco?
Taco? Why am I drowning at bedrock, Taco?
Update? How goes the castle?
Thecastle was put on hold originally because I am having health issues now I am thinking I will be doing it on the PC version because of the vast amount of features and materials available. I have set up a server already use 76.10428.162 to connect but you do require the latest version of snapshot to log in see the "Hosting a PC server" thread in this forum for details.
Lame.
agreed
Which part is lame, the fact that I am having health issues or the fact that it is being moved to pc?
Well, both, but moving it to PC. Health issues suck.
Well it can be built on xbox but without some updates it will not be able to be completed. The limitations on dimensions on the xbox version are quite difficult to workw ith when building a project this large. But if there are enough people I will gladly log on to the xbox version and start mining materials again.
Is a pic I saw elsewhere the almost finishe version of this ON PC? I think you said the spires needed finishing?
