New Hobbit movie.
We went to see it this weekend. I was really excited to see it but I just did not think it was great. It was worth the $5 I paid to see the movie but was not worth the purchase of the popcorn and the soda. Best I can do without the spoilers...
I can say that I would not pay to watch this at the movies again but will probably buy the box set with the extra scenes and stuff. If you are a big fan, go and enjoy.
I'm not sure that spoilers really apply to a movie based on a book that's been out so long. It's like saying that Jesus dies to someone picking up the Bible for the first time - the ship has sailed on that spoiler warning ;)
I enjoyed Part 2 of what I'm sure will be an excellent movie when it's finished. The thing I disklike about how they've split this into a trilogy is that the source material is one story - none of the endings make sense for the first two movies. But I can live with that for now, with the belief that it will make one heck of an awesome movie to watch straight through.
The one thing I dislike about both instalments so far is the 48 fps that they used to film it. The people look like actors, not like characters. It's such high fidelity that it pulls me out of the movie, wrecking all suspension of disbelief. I don't get the desire filmmakers have to show ultra-realistic film...eventually it passes the point of looking clearer and sharper, and instead looks like I'm watching a film being made. I think Jackson has reached that point with the Hobbit movies. It looks like people wearing makeup, like I were on the set with them. Wrecks it for me everytime.
Now, using that for porn on the other hand....no wait, I take that back. Even porn would have it's downside, depending on the movie. *Some* porn might look better like that. Maybe.
I am not sure I would want to see some of those broads without their make up.
