Pour one out - Dead consoles
Well, my launch PS3 just went belly up on me last night.
Fortunately, we had managed to get the platinum in Ni no Kuni a few weeks ago, because THAT would have been annoying.
Now, I am left with the decision of whether to scrounge for a PS3 or hold off for a bit and see what the PS4 holds... Though I have several games I would like to play.
Unfortunately, now that my backwards compatible PS3 is done, I don't think I'll ever get to these PS2 (mostly) RPG's I had picked up over the years.
So what are the plans for the Ni No Kuni book ... :) ... I would say wait for the PS4 ...
I never got the Wizard book, just the main Ni no Kuni game.
NO!!!!!!!!
Persona 3 and 4 are such amazing RPG's along with FFX and FFXII(Well some ppl dislike 12) Not to mention Rogue Galaxy was really, really neat, and had an amazing weapon crafting system that allowed you to build tons of weapons. Kingdom Hearts was good as well, although I liked number 2 better.
Honorable mention goes out to Xenosaga
Never got to play Shadows, and Odin Sphere wasn't as good as people made it out to be. It just had a good art style when the WW2 market was oversaturating things, however I found myself bored a lot in that game.
Actually, I'm thinking of tracking down a backwards compatible PS3 so I can play my .Hack Saga again, I miss it. However, dropping $300 on a console is tough when new ones are coming out soon.
There is an emulator out there I am going to start playing aroud with to play them on PC, but the limitations are:
1. a gamepad for the PC
2. BIOS from a PS2 loaded onto your PC, which probably isn't a big deal, though owning a PS2 to load the BIOS from is step 1.

Why not just buy a PS2 slim? One thing that is nice about them is that they are so small you can store it no sweat. I too have a huge back catalog of PS2 titles that I need to play "Rogue Galaxy is one of them also Persona 4 and Persona 3 which I end up playing for a bit then moving on since the stories are so tripped out. One ton
Exactly what I was thinking. Pick up a cheap PS2, you have enough games to keep you going until PS4 comes out.
Maybe, but I missed my streaming Netflix and BluRay player.
What with the release of The Hobbit and my unfinished PS3 library, I cashed in Target gift cards and debit cards that I had stockpiled for a slim PS3.
I'm weak.
I am sure you will enjoy it.
Sorry for your loss. Have a launch PS3 and a MGS model with a bigger hard drive. Just use them for Blu-ray movies. Was wondering how long they might last. And now I also must keep them for PS2 games. Hope the new Xbox retains backward compatability.
